'Morning all.

Got 4.5 on the 'mill yesterday, followed by 1 hour on the bike trainer and a few weights. Managed 15 assisted (very assisted) chin ups, though I couldn't make it to the top of the bar.

One day.......

We had some awesome running going on this weekend! Way to go, guys!

Let's bury my thread.

Good work on the chin up bar, Ailarie. Doing them assisted should be a good way to work towards them. It'll help begin teaching your nervous system how to coordinate and recruit the muscles. One thing I always find helpful is focusing on starting them with the lat muscles, I want to feel like my back is trying to pull my arms back in towards my spine.

Today's a rest day for me. I gave things a lot of work over the weekend, my trapezius muscles are complaining about the dumbbell snatches and presses I was working yesterday. I thought the abs might be yelling this morning after working with the ab wheels of death, but no complaints there.

I rested from pulling exercises yesterday though. Gave them big work on Saturday, would drape a towel over the bar, so one hand would go low and one hand up on the bar. I don't know why, but yesterday I got a feeling like if I give the pulling muscles a bit of rest and recovery here, that first one arm chin up might be really really close. But it might just be my mind tricking me.

Good morning, guys. Wow, chin ups are the thing to do, eh? I really oughtta start doing stuff like that...

I had a good run on Saturday of about 13.2 miles at a 8:58 pace. Then Sunday was an off day. Today I'll be back at it for about 6 miles or so. Not sure if I'll do them on the TM or outside. If I go to the gym, maybe I'll try to work in some chin ups...

Have a great day, folks!

morning!

Let's start with big congrats to Tiff for her first race this weekend! Great job on the 10k!

And Kini, hope the new shoes work well for ya!

Lots of great racing and runs by everyone this weekend. I got 14 in yesterday and weirdly, for the first time in forever, my knees are feeling it. Iced a bunch yesterday, so I'm hoping today's rest day will have them good to go for tomorrow. I'm not too worried.

Oops -- kids here now. Be back later.

Good morning all!
I had a lovely 6 mile run yesterday at about a 9:00 m/m pace. My lungs did burn a bit, but they'll get used to the cooler weather. At least it's not bitterly cold, so I can ease into it! Yoga/pilates and hopefully 3-4 miles today!
Great job witht he assisted chin ups, Ailarie! I love using that machine. I've had to back off becasue of some other issues, but I am looking forward to hopping back on it again!
Have a great day!

Nice new tag line, Bob

Wakey wakey, runners! And chin-uppers!

I'm taking a rest day today. I did enough cross-training yesterday to look like one of Maria's or Theia's rest days - meaning, enough to make all my muscles scream today!

Plus, the leg is bothering me. Blech. Nothing I can't work through.

Joe - sorry to hear your toe prognosis - that sounds irritating; difficult to fix! I hope your doctor can advise something that would get it to heal correctly (do they re-break toes still?).

Good races over the weekend!

Good runs to all today!

scheduled rest day for me. i think i'm going to take it as that.
so although 5 and 4 aren't that long...back to back was a killer. although, once i got cracking, it was so bad. I was all tight and owie by last evening.
i got a foam roller.
um. yeah. i don't really know what to do with it. so i lay down on my stomach (shut up Pacer....) and mat rolls it up and down my legs. he says he can feel the knots get worked out. if that's not what you're supposed to be doing.... oops. but either way i feel like a new kid every time he's done.

Had planned on hitting the gym this morning for some easy treadmill miles and then weights but planned has been derailed since DD2 is going to be home sick.

I'll do the treadmill workout at home (7-8 mils) during nap time and then do some core stuff with the gear I've got here.

I need to go to the gym just to weigh myself, but I feel odd about walking in and walking back out. But, I also need to pick up some foam padding for the bottom of my foot, so I might as well kill two birds with one stone...I guess.

Oh, that reminds me, my friend gave me The Stick over the weekend. (She's slowly ridding herself of her running stuff, can't run on her feet anymore. Guess that happens. But I'm making out )

Congrats, Tiff!!

(((Moon's toe)))

Good workouts for me this weekend: bike trainer Friday, 4.25 chilly early morning miles Saturday, more cardio and weights later Saturday, and then 8 miles yesterday. Hopefully I'll have time to do something later. I have three personal training clients after work today.

Good job on the workout, Noni!! Screaming muscles mean you did something good for yourself.

(((LL's DD2))) Give her a big hug from me.

Congratulations Tiff! Have you posted the details yet?

It is going to be warm here today!!! Yippee!! Now, the weather guy better darn well be right, I want to run outside after work. I have 4 miles on my schedule and I'd rather not go indoors for it.

I have been so lazy!!!! No running this weekend other than Friday night - 4.5 miles. My hammy is still weird feeling. I have been using the stick on it...any other ideas? It started during the marathon (no issues before really that I can think of) and has been bothering me since. I did lift and do some mean Theia planks yesterday with the clock lunges and 100 crunches.

RFTL - great job on your first HM yesterday!!

Sage - great super secret PR!

Korbel - man, you walked that much of the race and still finished under 2 hours? That is freaking amazing. Sorry that your race wasn't what you wanted. Upset tummy is no fun during a race... no way jose!

So, I am giving blood at lunch so running is of course iffy. It is so nice out I might do a walk/run thing with the dog after work. 48 today - windchill of -40 on Wednesday. WTF?
