We currently have a pure bred dog, as does my mother and my father. I don't think I'll buy a pure bred for a breeder again. I grew up w/ lab/shepard mixes and I think that mixes have the best temperment and, it seems, that they don't have as many health issues as pure breed dogs do. Example, in the last year my extended family has lost 3 pure breeds due to illness that is common w/ their breed (goldens and shepards). It's strange but there seems to be something really great about the mutts of the world! I don't have a problem rescuing a pure breed but don't think I'd buy one from a breeder again (oh, and our dane has wobblers - hits danes, horses and older dobermans).

I can't stand it either. Dude you're gettin' scammed. He'll just return them tomorrow after she's dead. I'm not really thinking that but the sappiness gets to me, so I act like a jackhole.

Sorry to hear that. My condolences.

Yea, that's a tough one for me, too. They played that at my buddy's funeral. Brutal.

That is a shame. Again, my condolences.

The Akron Aeros field (Canal Park Stadium) has seating in right field. I don't think there's any in center or left, though.

Thoughts and prayers out to Colleen and PTom's family and friends

QOD Right now nothing comes to mind as being overly sad in the song department. I remember crying to songs after my ex-girlfriend and I broke up. They were songs that we claimed as our songs.

Songs that make me happy, U2 songs as they make me thing of a certain Greek goddess. Maroon5 songs as my favorite French teacher comes to mind The them song from Weird Science makes me smile too

I love my pound puppy and my purebread.

songs that moves me...not so much to tears, but it hits home when I hear it:
"I'll Be" - Edwin McCain, was the song Tonya and I had our first dance to. Not the album version but a great acoustic version with Warren Haynes from the "Warren Haynes Christmas Jam 1999 Wintertime Blues" CD

"Steady As We Go" - Dave Matthews Band, read the lyrics

"Blue Sky" - Allman Brothers Band, matron of honor quoted some of the lyrics during her toast and I always think of Tonya when I hear it:

You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day.
Lord, you know it makes me high when you turn your love my way,
Turn your love my way, yeah.

yeah, I'm a sap.

How can I forget the most obvious answer to my own QOD? Where the Streets Have No Name makes me spontaneously cry no matter where I hear it -- the car, Spinning class, on a run, in concert in the middle of Madison Square Garden, etc. It was playing as I crossed the finish line of the 2005 San Diego Rock & Roll Marathon, so every time I hear it I am transported to that last 1/10th of a mile where I heard it, knew I was going to finish, and thought, "Bono is pulling me to the finish line!!!" Total basket case, but they are tears of pure joy and pride.

Hi all.

Just joined in, so I'm not caught up...

I can, however, answer the QOD --
Songs that make me (almost) cry --

Cats in the Cradle - Harry Chapin
I Am -- Train

Songs that make me happy -- TONS of them! Here's a few:

The Boxer - Carbon Leaf
Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty
25 or 6 to 4 - Chicago
Saturday in the Park - Chicago

Boy do I love me some butt kissing!!! I am going to the store tonight after dinner, Dh is letting me scavange the place for neat new stuff and freebies he has piled up in his office!!

And best of luck to your grandpa today. Keep us posted!

Next time I hear the Rocky theme song, ill think of Moe and Moon as that was the song playing as we started to run in Philly

Oh, I forgot one of my ultimate tear jerkers. Dante's Prayer by Lorenna McKinnet. DH loves this song and we played it at our wedding, as a way to honor our mothers. It was beautiful, the dance floor was packed, we were both all welled up as well as many of our family members. But it was a beautiful tribute in my opinion.
Dante's Prayer lyrics

When the dark wood fell before me
And all the paths were overgrown
When the priests of pride say there is no other way
I tilled the sorrows of stone

I did not believe because I could not see
Though you came to me in the night
When the dawn seemed forever lost
You showed me your love in the light of the stars

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me

Then the mountain rose before me
By the deep well of desire
From the fountain of forgiveness
Beyond the ice and fire

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me

Though we share this humble path, alone
How fragile is the heart
Oh give these clay feet wings to fly
To touch the face of the stars

Breathe life into this feeble heart
Lift this mortal veil of fear
Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears
We'll rise above these earthly cares

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me
Please remember me

1!
But I think it's really only a problem for our bosses.

I don't know most of these songs y'all are naming. Maybe I'd be more likely to know them if I heard them. I can't think of any tearjerker songs for me, but I know I have them...my brain just doesn't work right!
