TGIF indeed! and I, too, have Monday off! Yay! (although Monday is the annual visit to the dermatologist to make sure I'm skin cancer free )

Hey Bob how ya feeling this morning? See, I whispered so I wouldn't hurt your head

Bard - if you don't mind me asking, what kinds of cool stuff did you do to help your student? That's awesome. (my apologies if I missed that info)

Sounds like I missed some interesting things on the thread yesterday - it's too hard for me to get back to it after 5pm.
Moe and others w/ the long weekend You lucky dogs! Enjoy the weekend!
Happy Friday kids!!!

Lots of good stuff later yesterday! COngrats to Moe and Winter! And a big old nice work to Bard. And I laughed out loud at Bob's drunk posting!!!

No long weekend fo rme. But lots of stuff planned. Heading to the Phillies Travelling Carnival tonight, a few players will be there, silent auction, all that. Nice charity event. Dinner in the city tomorrow followed by a Penn basketball game. Sun I am hoping for some R&R and football watching!!!

Hey, anyone have any good advice on cameras and/or videocameras? We planned to buy a video camera before the little one arrives but seems that our digital has kicked the bucket so we will need both!!

Have a great Friday folks, will check in on the fun later!
late congrats to Ms. Winter

welcome back Ms. Mary (this place ain't the same without you I tells ya)

Sorry for your loss Colleen.

Ok glad it's Friday although I have to work until 7 with the extended hours for a company using our office for interviews. And tomorrow I have to work 2-7 but I plan on reading and goofing off during that time as we aren't technically open but are simply opening the office on a Saturday for the employer to use. We are more a presence than actually working so to speak.

I wish you all a great day and a fun weekend. I at least have Monday off due to MLK day. Everyone in our office needs it after yesterday (company back for a office full of job seekers), today and tomorrow's extended hours.
About to board one of 8 buses with 350 of my favorite 7th graders to visit the largest Hindu temple outside of India!! It's actually around the corner (literally) from my parents' house where I grew up (a very odd place for a temple if you saw it). Should be an interesting day.

I was thinking of doing a 5K tmrw with Ailarie and Radioyada, but it's supposed to- GET THIS- snow again!! Global warming my foot! Crazy crazy crazy!! BUT, at least I now have fresh batteries for my camera so I can take pics this time.

I hope everyone has a great Friday. Be good without me.

Congrats to both Maureen and Winter on their respective achievements yesterday!
Gotta get to the bus....
Solar- I posted a little more on my blog about it, though I kept the student's personal circumstances out of it (federal law, ya know). I think that any of my colleagues would also have been able to help the student, but maybe not in the same way. Basically, though, my social work background made me sensitive enough to realize that treating this situation as business-as-usual would have placed extra and unnecessary roadblocks in the way of the student.
Deja vu ... didn't this already happen before? But in the other scenario your boss actually made you work. Hope it goes better this time.

Good morning, or not so good morning. Up most of the night again with sick kids. I'm so glad DH comes home tonight. I need some relief!!
Hey Jill. Yeah this is weekend 2 of 2 helping this company. But I'm not being as much of a baby this time around and just gonna work it and not complain (as much heh).
Morning My Pretties,

so I start work on monday. I have some major organizing to do. Luckily, the kids are old enough that they can take care of themselves for 45 minutes a day, that way I won't require daycare. But everything else needs to be figured out. I need time saving tricks!

here we go:

Colleen I'm very sorry for your loss and that of your family. Peace to you.

good work! sometimes just being open enough to see the need is all it takes. (((Bard))) just because.

Beth: whatchu doin' with all that snow?!
LLdoyousleepsoundlyorareyouwaitingforthepagertogoo ffinthedeadofnightberg?

Lori - your weekend sounds great. How are you feeling these days?

((((Colleen & famimly))))

I probably have more scars from dermatologists taking biopsies (sp?) then freckles at this point (mom had skin cancer, and I am the pasty white Irishman).

Anyone else laugh out loud when they saw boB post in Wednesday's thread?

Congratulations to the Wardrobe Mistress.

We got the same snow as Larry and Scratch, but slightly different outcomes. It started later (about 6:30 when I was leaving the office). Quickly turned to rain at my office (about 3 miles from LI Sound), but stayed snow at home. We got about 2-3 before it turned over to rain. The result was about 1.5" of saturated slush. I would rather have more snow than that, because I have someone that plows my driveway, but he only comes when there is 3" or more. Shovelling my driveway is a pain:

Winter - some nights I do find myself looking at it in the middle of the night wondering if it might sound off. No middle on the night calls just yet but I'm sure one will be coming soon.

Tim - two words. Snow Blower. One of the best investments I ever made.

Time for pre-school drop off and then the gym.
Too steep. I fell on my ass a few times with the shovel this AM. Plus, like I mentioned, I have someone who plows if we get 3"+. What I amy do is get a plow blade for my lawn tractor. Instead of 45 minutes this AM, it would have been 10.
