Good Morning!

Skip You are a very lucky man! Your post brought a little tear to my eye.

I went out for 7.75 very cold and windy miles. I'm so tired now that I'd love to just take a nap. As a matter of fact, after going to the store I might do just that!

MrHopeful just went and bought a used plow for his truck . . . . so lets all sing, "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it snow . . . . .

Cheers!

Good morning Masters. Managed to get 6.78 miles in this morning. 26 degrees with a windchill of 12 (22 mph winds with higher gusts). It didn't feel that bad unless I was running directly into it. Very bleak out with the wind and clouds. Now its off to shower and pick up drycleaning, get a tire mounted and two Christmas parties tonight. Have a good weekend.

At some point I'll go to the Y and run on the treadmill. I'm not too inspired because it's a 9-miler. In the meantime, I made turkey chili and there's nobody to eat it. DW's at a basketball game, DD just woke up at her friend's sleepover and DS is asleep because he had a soccer team all-night party.

Hup, if you get online today I've got a little story for you. I was sitting here on kick last night when the doorbell rang, so I went to the door, but nobody was there. The UPS guy was running to his truck, ready to make the next delivery. For a moment, I had visions of a Garmin 205 dancing in my head. Then I saw the package he had delivered-a shredder for a SIL. I know it's on the way because I saw DW order it at amazon.com the other day. I'm like a kid again fiddling with the packages, I guess.

Less than enthusiastic run for me today. Too many hours had gone by since having breakfast by the time I got out to the park, so I think I was just hungry. Still have to figure out what I can eat and how soon before running so I don't get that lead balloon feeling in my stomach. On the days that I don't teach, it's not a problem, but hey, the people at the gym want their yoga first thing in the morning too!

5.5 miles in 53:35. Good runs to all!

Good Morning Boomers and Kickrunners! Light snow on the Bitterroot this morning and not too cold. A photo of some visitors this morning along with a little additional artistic editing. I am impressed the ease with which photo's can be posted on kickrunners and of course the increased speed. Might do a short dream mill run later. Good runs All, Larry

Skip, Dan sounds like a special kid.

Larry, pretty pictures as usual.

I had a wonderful long run today. My running friend and I met a group who was running the trails down by the river. They are a VERY fast group and we knew we'd get left in the dust. But we enjoyed the 2 minutes we were in contact with them and then happily did our own thing. She and I logged 9 miles together and then I ran another 2 miles after she left because I didn't feel quite ready to stop. So 11 miles total at a 10:30 pace, which included a couple of walk breaks for gel and water. Starting temp was 19 degrees with the "feels like" temp about 5. The trails were mostly clear but there were some icy/snowy patches in the shade.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks Hally.....looks like a winner.

Good luck with tomorrow's run Renaldo. You can wear the new compression shorts and a singlet. Should be perfect for the toasty warm conditions.

Hey Larry, nice photo! A customer of mine just gave me about 10 lbs. of frozen venizon to bring home this morning...I'm going to try & attempt to cook it later today, maybe make a stew. I've never had it before. He told me that it's got very little fat.
I just feel funny eating it now that I've seen your photo...

Good morning, err afternoon everyone! Sounds like there are some good runs taking place across the board here today. I was planning on going to the gym for a TM run after I drop DS off at a bday party at 2 p.m., but there's no reason to not run outside and get the fresh air. Really not looking forward to driving into town just to run on a TM. So I'll drop him off at his party which is actually at a house that is right along my usual running route. I'm shooting for anywhere between 10-12 mi depending on how I'm feeling. Days like this I wish I had a garmin, because I don't want to map out my run. I'm just going to run and maybe take a few new side roads here and there. I'll just run by time today and whereever the wind takes me. Have a good afternoon everyone.

To Souci on a great run! Life is good, is it not?

I still plan to get in 3 on the TM today. I woke up with a migraine, however, and have been lounging around waiting for the little pills to start working.

Actually, we're going to take the kids to a museum this afternoon. (The one we're going to always has a nice Christmas display.) I think I can handle that with the residual headache I still have. Hopefully when we get home I'll feel good enough to hop on the TM.

Have a nice rest of the weekend, and good runs, everyone.

I had a good yoga class today - a real killer one. Then I walked for 20 mins on the treadmill waiting for DH to finish up his spin class. This afternoon we visited a friend who has a brand new 10 week old Westie and boy oh boy is he a cutie pie!

My knee is feeling MUCH better. Not quite 100% yet but approaching. If we don't get hit with a snow storm tonight/tomorrow morning, I'll try some TM running at the gym in the morning.

Too many injuries this year, ugh. Hopefully 2008 will be better.

Sans, I am so delighted that you got a good run in today. You'll have to come back down and do the Elk with me while you're still damaged enough that I can keep up with you.

12.5 miles with 2x30 min at MP in 39F and intermittent rain. The second MP piece was mostly uphill. Overall, it came in at 9:10 m/m. (Boy, I'm glad SportTracks converts units on the fly so nicely.) I took an ice bath afterward, which was shockingly cold, but I think it was worth it. Legs are tired but don't hurt at all.

A bizarre thing happened during the interval between the workbouts: I passed a person and her dog (one of many on the run) and was overwhelmed with grief for Storm. I thought I was doing pretty well and had moved on - but I felt a tearing pain in my soul and keened out loud like a little child, trying to run all the while. It's a good thing runners generally look pretty rough anyway - but the tears mixed with the rain and I managed to brick it all over and compose myself for the rest of the run.

I didn't like the feeling of having it all laid bare like that. It was frightening. Running is a funny thing...

Grief hits when you aren't expecting it. Let it out with those tears, Sal. Great run for you. I'd love an Elk Lake run any ol' time.
