Good morning Peter,TripleJay and everyone else.

Trying to wake up enough to meet a group to run on some trails.

I was just reading some library listserve email and Interlibrary loan requests are increasing nationwide for Once a Runner after Again to Carthage came out. Used prices on Amazon range from $295 - $500. If you owned a personal copy of Once, would you sell it at those prices?

Morning gang.
Lots of snow and ice still here so the yak trax went on again for a pleasant 10 miles in 1:26.25 powered by the funky rhythms of MCSolar mix #9 on the ipod. Only run with music occasionally but sure enjoyed it today.

cheers all,
I'd like to read "Once a Runner" but not at those prices.

A very hawt and hoomid run this morning in advance of a cold front. The day before a cold front comes through is always like that. Felt like August. It's supposed to get cooler by Monday though.

12+ miles altogether, the 1st 6 at 8 min/mile pace, the last 6 at 9 min/mile pace. Huff and puff ...

'Fli, are we listening to the same toons? I've had a lot of thoughts about Eddie Vedder, but "funky" has not been not one of 'em.
Hey, bonger! 12 in the heat? Whaaaassthat?
JJJ, great fruit-and-cheerios 14 yesterday. Catch that rabbit?

Speaking of rabbits ... and arks ... we've got a full week of rain in the forecast, and I for one CANNOT WAIT to get out in it. I'm up a full 3 hours early for my ride to the track. No, too early to do any track work; Doug wants to have a gander at my gait and put together a plan for the next month.

Dontcha just love running?

Hope you can run tomorrow, tomwhite.

Nice runs so far today in lots of different weather. Scheduled and much needed rest day today. This virus has been dragging me down all week. I feel better after 9 hours of sleep, interrupted by coughing only a few times. To ski or not to ski, that is the question for tomorrow. Have a good one.

SS, Nope not Eddie, though that would be more the norm on my ipod. Maybe I have them numbered wrong but this was the MC mix with all the 70's funk, R+B tunes, Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Aretha when Rubber Band Man comes on its just hard not to stop and dance, I just grin like crazy instead.

I reread the book often, in sections or whole, especially during taper before a big race. Very inspiring stuff to me. I would never sell my copy of OAR at any price. The inscription on the inside front cover reads. "Dad, Your return to running has brought me both happiness and admiration. It has been inspiring as well - even more than a book as great as this. Keep running. Dan"

Good Morning!

12.6 easy-paced miles for me today (ave 9:43) just ahead of the snowstorm. First flakes were falling just as I got home.

Although I have some relatives coming over for a big lunch I am preparing, I have no reason to go out again today and a good movie to watch tonight with the family. Life is good.

Good runs everyone, and safe driving for those all out in the wintry conditions.

morning gang..........nippy this morning....no thunderboomers or freezing stuff yet, but tomwhite says it's heading my way.....10 easy miles this morning with the Knoxville Marathon training group....the hot chocolate afterward was a nice reward..I passed on the bagels but runners sure seem to like those things....they show up at seemingly every run and race so they must be well liked...or else they are really really cheap

Peter....feel free to head over the mountain and join the festivities for Knoxville at the end of March....we should have a nice group of boomers/masters in attendance and the first beer is always on tomwhite.....and that's not just a saying........it's a hilly course so the times aren't real fast, but we sure have a good time.

Hoovie...pick me up 2 copies and I'll use them for bookends.

FF....9 out of 10 dentists believe that a typical virus can be cured by skiing, and 10 percent of dentists live in Florida. Ski

I need to buy myself another mp3 player for xmas. I need a non-ipod that supports secure wma files so I can download audio books from netlibrary. I rarely run with music because I like to stay aware of my surroundings, but a book or two would come in handy for the occasional long solitary run.

4 miles on the treadmill in 44. There's supposed to be a snow storm here tonight. They're calling for 4 to 8 inches. We'll see.

Good morning.

5 miles today, breaking 2000 for the year. Hopefully I have no issues with the long run tomorrow. Still a shot at breaking 2100 (one of my 2007 goals) but I won't force it.

I'd planned to brew today, but the time is drifting away. There's a lot to do otherwise in any case, so it's just as well. Maybe next weekend...

Workout: 4.1 miles, 8:19/mi, AHR 150
A 4-mile Holly Run™ this morning, starting at a 10:01 pace and finished at 8:39. I had a number of chores to do, but we could get 6-10" tonight so this was my only chance to run outside this weekend. It was about 20F and a breeze starting to kick up from the east. I felt a bit chilly at the start, which of course meant that I was dressed just right once I warmed up.

Good running to everyone else, and those to the south and east of us remember to batten down the hatches before the Big One hits!

Piejones, get a Sandisk E280......I am listening to netlibrary with mine.
This is a great price but a refurb http://www.ecost.com/detail.aspx?EDP...e=EWB121507EML
Office Depot has it for $149
I got mine last spring on a sale for I think under $100

I ventured out, ran a block and decided it was too windy, back in for a change of clothes and then down to the treadmill for 3 miles. Off to the gym for weights now.
