Congrats!!!!

Heather, feel better! That's an order! I'm older, bigger, taller, stronger... listen to me, woman! Spinning and weights tonight. Running, step aerobics, and volleyball tomorrow.

morning

I think today will be a rest day. I am under the weather and my long run was yesterday. Now to decide which day I skip. I have a 9 miler with 5 x 600m repeats @ 5K pace or a 14 miler general aerobic. I am thinking skipping the 14 miler makes the most sense. thoughts?

Good morning!

Congrats!!! to all of our runners and racers this weekend. Great job, everyone!

Heather, hope you're feeling better soon! Way to go running a race with a bad stomach. I'd never be able to do that!

Today is a scheduled rest day for me, but I hope to get to karate class tonight, if DH gets home in time. I ran 5 miles on Saturday and 12 on Sunday. I'm going to be starting marathon training next month after (if) I get my doctor's OK.

I ordered a RoadID last week, and I just got an email from them with a "Tell a Friend" promotion. I've got 20 coupons for $1 off any RoadID order. If anyone is interested, PM me your email addy and I'll forward you the coupon code.

Have a great day!

Good morning, everyone.

Got 3 on the Tm yesterday, followed by about 40 minutes on the bike trainer. Talk about having jello-legs when I hopped off. Yeowza!

Rest day today.

Colleen - grats, girlfriend!

Hi.

It had to happen sooner or later*. : sigh :

Everything here is coated with at least 1/2'' of ice. (The roads are finally salted and ok-ish, but everything else... slip-per-eee!!!) While it's really pretty, it doesn't make for fun running.

I swapped days, so today was supposed to be my long run. Uh, riiiiiight. I made it 2 miles and then hit an ice patch. It probably looked very cartoon-like as *my feet flew out from under me and I crashed down on my left hip. Man, that hurt. So I turned around and gimp-ran home.

If I spread my fingers out as far as I can, the bruise (a lovely shade of aubergine) is about from the tip of my thumb to the tip of my pinky.

The poor dogs.... No matter which door you have to go up/down 5 steps to get in/out of my house, all of which are coated with ice. The dogs wipe out at the bottom every time we go out, and can hardly find purchase to walk. Going down the driveway is the funniest - the third the closest to the street has a slope to it, so you can pretty much just stand still and slide down.

Jack has no clue what is going on.

Hi gang...

I wish I could say I've been lurking, but I haven't even really been able to do that. But I woke up today, realized I had a day off (for the most part), and decided I'd poke my head in here and say hello! I've missed hanging out with everyone!

Not much running for me except for the local Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving (which, upon investigation, my MOTHER placed 4th in her age bracket!!! ) but I have been hitting the gym with a trainer pretty seriously for the last two months, and also getting in 1-2 yoga classes a week. I've dropped about 5% body fat and gained about 6 pounds of muscle, so whatever she's got me doing is really working. I can see the difference in my legs, especially, which is one area I really wanted to focus on.

Now, it's just a matter of trying to figure out what my schedule should look like each week so that I can get back into a running routine. I suspect I am going to have to become an early morning runner to make it work, but I have such a hard time getting up early. sigh.

Oh well...blah blah blah and all that. Sorry to bust in after so long and thread hog all about me. I will try to catch up without begging for too many explanations...

Have a great day everyone!

Later taters.

Ann

ANN!! I see you lurking down there!

HI!!!

Morning Gang -

I finally have a run to report! 3.5 yesterday with Tonya and then a nice 4.25 this morning. Cold, but all of the nasty ice storm managed to stay south of us (sorry Kathleen - ice that hip: 20 mins at a time every two hours for the rest of the day). Had to run in the streets but still a good run, especially considering the last two days were runs #4 and #5 since Thanksgiving.

Colleen - great job on the OHR!

gotta jump in the shower. later gang.

I have started a HM Training Thread over in 'The Race' forum. There was something along these lines at CR, and I think there is some value to it.

It was ugly, but I will take the win Can McNabb throw downfield any time between the first and last drive of the day?

Wow Ann! Totally cool! I hired a personal trainer when I was engaged (just added it into wedding expenses, hee hee hee!). I loved it. (Yes, I know I *am* a personal trainer and instructor, but I wanted someone else to kick my butt for once.)

Hey! There's a blushing smiley for us now!! Yippee!

Haven't read up yet, but poppin' in. I ran 2M recovery run this mornin', it definately helped shake out those aches. Still kinda sore after Sat, but progressing toward feeling more human. Saw the wisened ole sage runner while out this a.m., the one I feel great about catching. He asked how I did, I said "OK, but it was way hot." "Tough, isn't it." Yeah I guess I've been knocked down a few pegs.

Really? Even though it's just bruised? It isn't swollen or anything, just blarple. (that would be black/purple. )
