Ok, got six miles in on my lunch hour today. Temps were in the 30s so I wore my NJ Marathon long sleeve tech shirt. By the end of the run it looked like there had been a shark attack off of the coast of Cape May. (you have to know what the shirt looks like to understand this part)

I'm off to look at the rest of the thread.

Got in my 2.5 on the mill. Felt alright for the most part. Sweatin' like 10 whole men while doing it. I really need to break down and updgrade to the Garmin 305 or at least get an HR watch. I was checking my heart rate on the mill and I was up to 165. I know my aerobic level has dropped due to my miles dropping but it didnt feel like I was having to work that hard on my run.

Guess Ill see what its at tomorrow, it mightve just been the machine or who knows the ticker might be having to work that hard.

Baggs, did you completely rule out Philly? I just found out through Patrick (KR member) who will be at the Back On My Feet exhibit at the Expo on Saturday that their organization (Back On My Feet) has some extra marathon entries. You can contact Maureen O'Toole at 610-909-8969 or maureen@backonmyfeet.org

Howdy all - I hate feeling like a pincushion, but that's what happens when they need to draw blood from me (as part of my physical I had last week.) These veins of mine are just hard to find for most phlebotomists, and that didn't change for me this morning

Made up for it with all sorts of cross-training today (80 min on elliptical/1 hour plus weights & core work/1.5 mile on the TM).

Happy anniversary to you and your DH, Brandy! Sorry you won't be in Philly this weekend tho'

Voo - take it easy on that ankle. And Frankie - I know it sucks royally. Hopefully the doc can shed some new light on the subject. Same healing vibes go to you Oache. BTW, how are things looking for you duck?

Theia - I like lunges too...just not the days afterward

A circuit breaker clicked on and turned off the freezer and wiped out my two pints of Ben & Jerry Ice Cream; looks like I'll have to make up for it somehow this week.

something like this...
m 5
t 5
w 6
th off
f 3
sa 10
su off
when i'm actually 'training' for something, my off days are typically XT. I do plyos w/my speed workouts on mondays.
I mix speed on Mondays, move distances around (to mix up my routes).

i'll try to check in later. gotta go home and rescue DW.

Hi All,
I get the day off today, been hanging with the kids. We went on a short hike to the beach with some friends. now I'm gonna do housework while the kids play lego Star Wars on the PS2.
DW comes back from clearwater tonight and I'm contemplating doing my 20 mi after I pick her up. I'll be running from about 6-10pm, sounds miserable, and I don't know if my lungs are up for it. Plus I haven't run since wed, when DW left and I got a cold. I think I just have to sack up and do it.
I hope all your weekends are well. I'm going back to read the thread.
Peace.

Just back from a few miles at the track. This was actually a differnet track than I've gone to before. I usually go to one near home, but today I went to one near work so that I could get started sooner, and thus while there was still some daylight. It might have been a different track, but the map looks suspiciously similar...

Anyway, I did 4x400 intervals, and I ran the 400s in 1:48, 1:46, 1:37 and 1:28. I think that 1:28 might have been faster than necessary, but it felt good to let it out like that...

I'm definitely looking forward to Philly...

Hey all!

Wound up doing 3 on the TM while DD1 had her swim lesson. Nothing too exciting.

Happy Anniversary Brandy & DH!

I'm going to try the curtsey lunges tomorrow, Theia. They sound awesome.

I hope your ankle will feel better with it's day of rest, Voo.

(((Frankie))) I hope you get some answers at you Dr.'s appointment.

It's phenomenal that you have raised that much for your charity in such a short time, 2oh.

I really need to take the time and figure out my Gramin a little more. Heather's question has made me realize I probably am not using it to its full potential.

Yikes, them measley miles put the hurt on me tonight. Stupid frickin cold will not clear out of my noggin' and chest. Argh!! I'm hoping that the sweatfest that was spin class, took care of creating an exit route for all remaining nasty germs.

2oh Adding a 6th day - I would do so gently. I wouldn't split up a midweek run into 2 shorter ones (unless you're talking about running with Frank Shorter), I would just add a short (2-4 miles) run and try that for 2 weeks, then cut it out for a week. The great thing about adding that run is that if you have to skip a run for whatever reason, you can make THAT week your 5 day week and not feel guilty. Just pay attention to how you're feeling - if you feel sluggish or cranky, you might be adding too much too soon.
