Hey, people. Oh well, it's Monday again...

Congrats to the racers this weekend. You know who you are.

East run for me today. It'll be east all week. The taper always drives me nuts.

Remember, you have until the end of the day on Wednesday (day after tomorrow) to get those picks in for the Phantasy Philly game. The game is not just open to those who will be in Philly. Anybody can play. See that thread for more details.

Mercedes people: So, who's staying in B'ham until Monday on that weekend? I need to know whether I should book my flights to come back home on Monday, or on Sunday...

Umm, I guess that's enough for now...

Good morning everyone!

I'll get a couple of miles in after yoga this morning. I woke up at 5:00, let the dog out, and then somehow fell back asleep. Ooops! At least I had let the dog before falling back to sleep!

Have a great day!

I will run today at some point. I have a LR to do. 6? Maybe. We'll see how I feel.

Since I'm undertrained for Philly...I might be better off conserving my legs as much as possible this week and really being rested and fresh. But I will get out today.

Morning!

I got in a couple of good runs this weekend- 6 miles on Sat. Not a bad run and then 12 yesterday. I realized about mile 4 that I had neglected to eat lunch and got pretty hungry. I ate my sports beans but that didn't help too much! Felt strong through mile 9 and made it through the last 3. I was glad to be done for sure. Anxious to see how it goes in Philly! Can you believe this time next week it will be all over?

Just want to repeat- great weekend running and racing folks! Tons of PRs and free plane tickets to Japan (ok, only one of those!) Very very cool!!! You are all so inspiring. I actually thought about many of you racing while I was running yesterday!

Ok, gotta get ready for work. I'm feeling so lazy right now. Would love to go back to sleep and then work on some of the chores I didn't get done this weekend. I've got my allergist appt. tonight to see about the asthma meds. Hopefully this will help the running, too. I'm pretty sick of not breathing.

Later! (Hey Becca, make sure you let the dog back in! )

Good Morning!

I might get out for a 2 mile recovery run at lunch. My legs are pretty sore from yesterday (another reason I know I pushed hard - in the past I would feel just fine after a 5k race).

Garmin question - do you use Pace - Lap or Pace - Average? I used Average yesterday but I think that threw me off because my second mile was higher than anything my watch said the whole race. Does that make sense? Sorry its hard to explain what I'm looking for.

got in about 2.25 with hank this morning. not really sure. just ran to a point at the trail and turned around. my garmin is different from what the trail says.
not sure what that's about...i hope that isn't why i am faster these days....

left calf is was quiet when i got up, grumbly when i started running and is now not screaming, but likely cussing me out under its breath. i stretched it and have ice on it now to shut it up.

Good Morning
Finished week 5 of OHR. I have to find a way not to focus on the time while I am running. My legs feel fine, but my brain tells me 38 minutes is a loooong time to run. Maybe I will try to cover up the timer on the treadmill. I know 38 minutes isn't a long time, my cross train sessions last 60-80 minutes.

I need to go back and read the weekend thread....

Morning all -

East 4 this AM on the 'mill. I am trying to keep my HR low (relatively) for my east and long runs. My LR on Sat night I averaged 146, and this AM, I also averaged 146. But even slowing the pace on the treadmill, it kept creeping up. That is pretty much dead on at 70%. But I have had to slow down to keep it there.

Back was a little sore yesterday, so major stretch-o-rama. The route I ran Sat night (up and down my dead end street) is basically about 0.35 miles up hill, then 0.35 miles down hill. About 100' change in elevation. I think I need to be careful on the downhills.

morning gang...

nice temp here in Michigan today too Brandy - went to bed it was in the 40s, woke up it was 53. Nice to be able to run in shorts and short sleeves in the middle of November!

nice easy 6+ this morning - got new shoes this weekend and I forget just how nice they feel when they're new

Litch - don't worry too much about your heart rate creeping up towards the latter part of a run. Natural for it to do that, and can often be a symptom of mild dehydration. As long as your average is where you want it to be I wouldn't worry about it.

Brandy - Happy Anniversary...same goes to your husband.

Morning all. Not much activity from me this weekend ...I'm still dealing with sick crap, coughing and what not - it's ridiculous, I wish it would exit my body already! Tonight I'll be doing some light speedwork followed by a spin class.

Happy Anniversary Brandy & DH!!

Big congratulations to all the weekend's racers, there sure were a slew (sp?) of PRs around here. GREAT JOB 30s!!!

Duckie- Good luck at the doc!

forgot to add: today's run put me at 995 miles for the year. Looking forward to crossing that 1,000 line tomorrow.

Congrats on finishing the OHR Maples.

Next week is Thanksgiving, which means I will be downstate with almost no chance for running. Is it too much to get my three runs in Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday?

Love clock lunges!! Curtsey lunges also are killer. Will be doing them Wednesday in class.

Good morning! Congrats to the weekend runners/racers! My run Saturday -- what was supposed to be my last long run before Philly -- was Teh Suck bigtime. It was supposed to be 8 miles, but I didn't get motivated to run until about 6 p.m. The coach told me to go on the track for 8 miles since it was dark out (he didn't want me stepping in a pothole or tripping over a fallen twig or anything), but I went to the Y to run on the treadmill instead. Thank GOODNESS I did. Major stomach troubles. Struggled to make it to 4 miles, jumped off the 'mill, got sick, went back in, struggled through 2.2 more miles, jumped off, got sick again, went BACK in (I was trying, folks!), managed just .3 more before I quit. Got MAJORLY sick that time and went home. Bleh.

All I could think of was,

Thank goodness I'm on a treadmill near a bathroom, not outside somewhere, and

Thank goodness this is happening this weekend, not next!!

Yesterday I was a total lump and didn't work out at all. Bleh again.

Happy Veterans Day, all.
