Oh Beth!

I checked around last night for you concerning the running in Quebec City.
I didn't find anything. I'll get in touch with Marathon Princess and Martin today and see if I can't get you some information. I've had trouble in the past with this same issue in Montreal and in Western Quebec. Maybe as you get closer to the time you'll have better luck.

I'll keep looking.
Hey! If you are going to be in Quebec City. I'll come up to see you. Or we can meet half way in Montreal and take in the night life.

G'morning all - took the day off yesterday, which I needed after a pretty busy weekend. Will get back to running with a few miles after work.

Happy Birthday Oache!!!

Hey Colleen (I think it was you who bought the ring in Jamaica) - this might be too late in regards to that ring, but the local TV station did a piece on your rights on overseas purchases. You can view it here KGO-TV Report: Consumer Rights When Shopping Overseas

Crane - sorry you won't be there in Philly, but priorities are priorities. Wishing the best for your Dad and you

Tonya - fibular head adjustment? As someone who's had ITB issues, that doesn't sound fun at all

Feel better soon Kini!

Winter - you've come a long way in a short time with the weight-loss. I give you a full for a job well done

No tailgaters allowed! That's the way to show 'em, Brandy

BTW, if you're interested in getting in on the latest CD swap, we're trying to finalize the group in the next day or two. We have a trick-or-treat theme going this time around, so check it out if you'd like here:
http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13313

QOD Nutrition: Just water in the morning to hydrate myself. If I do eat something, I'll wait a couple hours before I head off running

QOD TV: Two come to mind. MacGyver - I always wanted to throw seemingly random things together to explode a door open or plug up an acid leak from a tank. Also, Mr. Roarke from Fantasy Island - he had some kinda' mystical conjuring mojo goin' on, ya' know? And that accent is awesome...but why do I have to say Cor-DOH-Ba, when it's really COR-do-ba, darnit <kicks Tattoo off to the side>

crane - sorry you won't be in philly, but big-time healing vibes out to your dad.

oache - happy birthday, pal

QOD - i'd either be Kramer, or George Jefferson...

Back at ya man. Are you doing anything out of the ordinary on the b-day? Skipping out work early or stuff like that? heh. Not trying to get you fired on your b-day or anything.... ha.

QODY: Growing up I was not athletic. Nobody in my family was athletic, more of a bunch of braniacs/nerds, so athletics weren't discouraged, but they weren't encouraged either. I started running approx. January 2004. I received a treadmill as a gift and I was using it for walking and one day I was messing around with the programs and a program that I thought was a walking one started RUNNING in the middle of it. I just went with it and kept using that same program and after a while found that I wanted that running section in the middle to last loooonger. And thus, a runner was born.

QOD: In the a.m. I'll eat something if I'm running longer than 3-4 miles. Just a granola bar or something.

Wow, I'm getting in here before there are numerous pages! That hasn't happened in a long time! I am about to take DS to school and DD to the gym daycare. I have to get in my VRAA points for the day. I havne't been around much. I hope everyone is doing well.

I miss you.

Mornin' Gang.

((((Melis)))) You gotta do what is right for you. No matter what.

QOD - I want to be a guest on the Muppet Show. Or maybe Chips. I always wanted to be on Chips. . .

Congrats on your mileage Baggs!! That is awesome!!

Celebrity Sighting - Political Analyst James Carvelle was on my flight this morning from Bham to BWI. He was wearing an LSU t-shirt, he's an LSU grad and was probably down there for the game this past weekend.

I'm up in Columbia, MD for a couple of meetings today. Flew up this morning, going home tonight, and then flying back up on Thursday. Crazy schedule I tell ya.

Happy B-day to Oache!

QOD - TV - My best answer would be I'd be a character like Danny Trip on Studio 60. Danny was the producer of the fake "SNL" that was the show within the show. I think I mentioned that I would like to work in the entertainment industry behind the camera. That said, I work on the business side of the media. If I had a second choice, I think I'd be that lawyer on the new show "Dirty Sexy Money" Totally cool!

QOD - N - like Baggs said, I eat breakfast before all runs of 10 miles or more. Usually look for easy carbs, so I go with instant breakfast drink, and/or granola bar, and raisons.

Aw, thanks Maples! Oache too! and Happy Birthday!

I walked 3.5 yesterday in a little under an hour. I need to run 3 tonight...I might need to take me to the Y to TM; I have to get them in, but I also have to finish that dress I'm making. So I might be at the Y later tonight. There's nothing on TV at least, to keep me from my appointed miles.

I'm worried about running today though. Just scared about a repeat of Sun.

Craney, I'm sorry you won't be at Philly...take care of yourself and your family. We'll meet another time.

Good runs, guys....

Bob, I'll try to play it here at work, but you never know. I'd like to play though!

QOD1: Sometimes, I think Sex in the City. But more likely Mythbusters...I really want to work on that show.

QOD2: I eat if I'm running a little later in the morning, but not if I go right away. Which is rare.

I'll save my QOD for tomw. It's a fun one.

So good thing today - I look pretty darn cute. Always a good thing

Bad thing today - I have to run 800 m repeats tonight. oh.my.dog!!
and I have a carpastic day full of carp at work. Woo hoo

You mean you talk to cats wearing glasses?

QODY: In the summer of 2002, I just hit 30 years old and weighed about 245 pounds. I was strong as an ox, but my cardio was bad, as evidenced by a fight I had just had. So, I decided to tackle it head on and started running on the treadmill in the gym because I was too embarrassed to run outside. I could run about 5 minutes, walk for 1 minute and run another few minutes. I still remember running for 20 minutes straight, watching the timer count up. By the end of the summer, I was running outside and decided to run my first 5k, which I finished in 25:33. I ran a Halloween 5k a month or so later. I kept running after that until about Novemember but got walking pneumonia or something and was sick for about 6 weeks and completely stopped running. In the spring, I wanted to try to start again, but had some unrelated foot or ankle injury. So that was it for running.

Fast forward to April 2004. Two days after my last fight, I broke my wrist. I had gotten my weight down to about 220 pounds through a low-carb diet. I had just started running again about a month before. After breaking my wrist, I decided to give the running thing another try since I couldn't lift or anything else. But I wanted to follow a longer training plan. So I picked out a beginner marathon training program and decided to follow it as long as I could. Looking at it, I didn't think I'd get past the third week, which was a long run of 6 or 7 miles, further than I'd ever ran. I told myself that I'd run the Akron Marathon in the fall if I could get through the program.

I knew I didn't have the base for it and figured I'd injure myself training, which I did, and hurt myself running the race, which I did. But I also figured I would never want to run another step again, which was fine. In short, I ran every step of the marathon, finishing in 4:27:11. But what I didn't count on was getting hooked on running, which is exactly what happened after that race. I ran three marathons and a 50K ultra the next year.

QOD1: Survivor. I've applied to the show every time since the second season. Came close to getting on once.

QOD2: I don't eat anything before a morning run unless its more than 12 or 13 miles.

Belated Happy Birthday to Theia!!

And Happy B-Day to Oache and his magnificent ass! Hard to believe you and that ass are the same age!

Um, what else. Running. Got out for a weird 7 miles yesterday. Legs felt awful at the beginning and I almost stopped 50 yards into the run. But I told myself they just needed to loosen up. Well, the run did get better. In fact, each mile was faster than the preceeding, with the first being 9:14 and the last being 8:39. I don't think I've run like that before.

Well, I gots lots o' work to do, catch you all later!
Thanks for looking. I was thinking maybe I'd have more luck in that area if I go to yahoo.ca and search in French? And I was COUNTING on meeting you sometime up there!! I would actually be in Chicoutimi (100km north of QC?) How far is Montreal? I'd love to go visit there too! Cross your fingers I get the scholarship, though!

Morning all –

I’m sorry to hear that you won’t be coming to Philly Melissa. I was really looking forward to meeting you. I hope you father is feeling better soon.

Happy Birthday Oache.

Billie – I totally forgot to congratulate you yesterday on a terrific race this weekend.

Add me to the list of people that are happy to hear that Mary’s father is doing well too.

QOD1 – I could go for hanging out at the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin

QOD2 – no eating prior to my morning runs. I’d say you should experiment with eating a bit before your runs – everyone is different and you might run better with a little something in your stomach. Caveat - on race day I try to get up and eat about 2 hours prior to the race.

Good runs to all.

Trevor

Cute is good. Work it as you need to

As for the 800s, just think ...it could be worse. They could be 1600 repeats.
