Suuuuure..... drive another stake through my already wounded heart.

I would say that The Drive was worse, if only because football is my favorite sport.

KrisE- great photos! I love J's dress. She looks stunning in it.

Happy Birthday THEIA!!!!!

That is all, must go back to work. [blows raspberry in the general direction of cubicles]

Hmm. You Toyota lovers are making me re-think my 2007 Maxima. We kind of fell into it. Wasn't even on our radar last Spring when we were looking, but we took it for a test drive and loved it. Actually, DH loved it...took me a little longer to get used to a car instead of the minivan. But now I love it too. It's F.A.S.T.

Kris - you and J are a beautiful couple. I love her dress!

Thank you for the great remarks on my run. I haven't been feeling it these last few months, but now I'm recharged. Isn't it funny how one good run can make things right again? I told DS it was his Ipod that made me run so well. He thought that was cool.

QOD - I ran in HS 4 years of X-C/Indoor/Outdoor. Was pretty good in the 800m, 4x800 and 4x400. My college didn't have a women's team so I just ran for fun and to keep the weight down after having kids, racing local 5ks. In 2004 I did my first half marathon and I've done 2 more since then along with a few 15k's. I am thinking of doing another HM in May (maybe Ottawa).

I was really hoping for a Cleveland win (though I am happy I don't have to hear the Cleveland Rocks song anymore!!!). Sorry Sox fans, but you can laugh at me, what with the way Philly teams perform!!! I will say I am hoping Colorado takes the series. Since they beat my Phils I have to root for them to go all the way. Plus they just have some awesome mojo going, it is fun to watch!

My mother drove a nissan for awhile and she really did not like the quality. She now drives a Camry.

Arrgghh!!! So much to say and no time to say it.

Congratulations to KrisE on an incredibly huge PR. Fifteen minutes? Didn't you just run a 10 miler this summer?

Congratulations to Kristin as well. You know, if you ran a race with the 30s I'll bet your PR would be even closer to 2:05 (just trying to provide additional incentive for the next 30s meetup). Great job. And take care of those potty breaks sooner next time!!

And congratulations to Lora on her 5k PR - I wish I could PR on a whim. Unfortunately, when you have little natural talent, you have to train for months and months at a time.

Great job to MelanieW as well - I'd like to run a race with my sister one day if I could get her to do something longer than a 5k....

Happy Birthday Theia!! Rough crowd here - I thought she was 24...

I had my first run yesterday post-half disaster. A nice hilly 8 miler in 63 minutes with only a little soreness afterward. My second weight session went well this afternoon too, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can resume full training soon.

Ugh. There's more. I'll check back.

QOD - I've essentially had two running lives. The first was in high school - I ran 14 seasons of varsity track and cross country from 7th-12th grade. Had a few DI and DII collegiate scholarship offers, but turned them down to run for the #1 DIII (at the time) running school in the country. Long story short - I chose beer and fraternity life over running and never ran a step in college (at least not competitively). Fast forward to April 2005 - 17 years and 100 pounds later - I decided that I hated being as large as I was and picked running back up again. I've been running ever since.

Good runs to all.

Trevor

Yes - it was me.

I'm sorry.

Sigh.

3 seconds. . .that's all it took. . .3 lousy seconds.

I. Am. Ashamed.

Howdy, all. I didn't have time to read all the posts just yet. Hopefully before the day it out... But his is just a quick check in from my parents' house. They are thrilled to meet their granddaughter. That's a good thing.

Red Sox Nation – congrats, but I heard something on the radio that pissed me off. Some random fan was interviewed, and he said how great it was to be back in the World Series, because the Sox have been out of it for too long – three years. Really?
/quote]

I don't think any long-time Red Sox fan would say something like this. This was probably some bandwagon jumped that hopped on board after the Sox-Yankees series in 2004...

As for the World Series, I don't know. On paper, the Sox seem to be better than the Rockies in just about every aspect. But how do you pick against a team that's lost 1 game in the past month?? It should be a good series...

Nothing was a worse thing than The Drive...and I hate Cleveland! That was just bad news - the Indians got up on a better team for a lead but then Beckett shut them down, the Sox started getting breaks the Indians had been getting, and it snowballed from there. Nope - the Indians played well and are going to be a good team for awhile - they got nothing to be ashamed of (except maybe Paul Byrd - let's see how THAT whole thing turns out!) Westbrook was pretty gutsy last night - to scrape through the messes he was in early and keep them in the game and then really start to pitch well. Pretty good stuff!
