Good morning, everyone.

This weekend has been a good one for me, running wise. Friday, I got my first 1.25 miles run since being benched. Saturday, I bumped it up to 2.0 miles, and did a repeat on Sunday. Today is a rest day, and I try again tomorrow. I’m so psyched, that I am on the borderline of going ahead and registering for the GA ING half marathon, even though it's 11.1 miles further than I'm capable of running, at the moment!

Though I will admit.... my quads / thigh muscles are rather not happy with me now. Oof oof! However, as pointed out by another poster...... they'll get over it

Looks like a lot of other folks had some good runs this weekend, too!

Otherwise, I got nada, this early in the morning. Time to find some breakfast!

Morning All!
Been up working for awhile. Going to be an ooooooober long week...actually 2. Getting my mom's shop ready for holiday open house after school and on weekends these two weeks. Fun work, but makes for a long day.

I picked up a sixer of Scrimshaw this weekend. Very nice stuff. I said hello in the other thread first, but came over here, too. (along with OS )

Not sure I congratulated Kriddie and KrisE on their races this weekend...

Good morning 30's!
No run for me today, but I did ace yesterday. The bad news: I didn't run at the pace I had wanted. I'm getting over it. The good news: I won a new pair of running shoes!!! Yay for me! I was in desperate need of a new pair, and now I am getting them!

Happy Birthday Theia!

I have to finish reading the weekend thread. I'll be back!

I'm guilty of this too. It's fine for some things but it ends up costing me more quite a bit!

Hey Jill, how'd you like the Jinx? I thought it was pretty damn good.
Becca - great job on racing and winning the new kicks!

Happy Birthday Theia!!!

Ok somebody's gonna have to come clean. I went to coolrunning back in March simply to get ideas. Random web search. I was walking 5 days a week and wanted to do something a little more. Fast forward to this morning. Getting up at 5:45 am in the dark, in the rain, in the cold wind to go running??! Also with just shy of 3 weeks from completing the One Hour Runner program I have to go back to coolrunning to possibly print out the 10k training plan???! Already made serious thoughts about signing up for a 5k in Birmingham in February??! OK THAT DOES IT! Where is the real Maples and what have you done with his body!

Happy Birthday, Theia!!! You're 29, right?

And good morning to everyone else, as well. The three of us are heading to CT for the day to see other Grandma and Grandpa. Hopefully it won't be too difficult of a drive.

I had a nice 7.25 mile run last night at a 8:08 pace. I seem to alternate good runs with crummy runs. Hmm...

The next time I check in there'll probably be 15 pages... Ugh...

Good morning runners,

The good news: DW and I picked-up the new puppy yesterday afternoon and she is beyond cute. Took a bunch of pictures and video. I'll see about posting something tonight.

The other news: Puppy misses her litter mates and she let us know about it--crying every hour on the hour throughout the night. Heh. Puppy sleeps just fine--if she's on your lap--if not, she'll sleep for about an hour in her bed in the cage before the protesting begins. (But I have to admit, she's still cute even then.)

Running news: New PR at the Detroit 1/2 Marathon: 1:40:37 (7:41/mile). Very windy yesterday, but the weather was good: sunny and about 56 degrees at the start and 60 degrees at the finish. Smooth start and great fan and volunteer support throughout. This is the second year I've run this race and I can say Detroit does a great job.

And congrats to Kriddie on a PR as well

HAPPY BIRTHDAY THEIA!!

Have a headache this a.m., still thinking it is dehydration so made sure to drink 20oz water even before leaving the house. Have coffee now but will have water the rest of the day.

I did not stay up too late last night. I was tired and turned off the Sox-Indians game at the 7th. Apparently, I had good timing. I got to miss the late inning slaughter, the score was still 3-2 when I went to bed. I'm disappointed, but then again, I'm forever a Cleveland sports fan (all sports) so I'm used to it.

Moe- I read your post in the other thread. I'm sorry you had such a sucky run yesterday. Still, I do not think you are crazy at all to attempt the 1/2 at Philly. You are finding the kinks now so that you can be as well-prepared as possible in 4 weeks. Besides, you have 2 of our resident hottie 30's men pacing you, so what could be better?

You will probably be able to post something similar in 3, 6, 12 months down the road. It's great.

Noni – when are we invited over to party on the patio?? My neighbors are having a patio installed and it is costing $$$$$.

Red Sox Nation – congrats, but I heard something on the radio that pissed me off. Some random fan was interviewed, and he said how great it was to be back in the World Series, because the Sox have been out of it for too long – three years. Really?

Ailaire – happy for your progress.

Happy 16th birthday Theia

Salty Maureen – sorry your run sucked, ut like you said in your interview, you toughed it out. Good work.

Solar – belated congrats on you "oh by the way…" 2nd AG placing.

SemiSpeedy – GeezOPete – loos the Semi part already. You are just plain speedy.

Long weekend. Kids fighting all day yesterday, DD, slammed a door that caught DS#1 in the face, knocking off his glasses and leaving a nice bruise and cut on the side of his face. DS#2 bit him later in the day. Shitty football game with DD. Her cheer team has been together for four years, and this year has sucked – they decided to move up in class (from intermediate to advanced), girls have been getting hurt all year, and the squad has gotten cliquey, parents are fighting with each other. And the football game was called with about 3 minutes left when one of the players (10 YO) was carrried off immobilized on a stretcher. Turns out he is OK, but wow - there are few feelings worse than what you feel watching that. Glad to be back at work to be honest.

Good morning everyone!

HBD Theia

Congratulations on the good runs Semi, Becca and boB.
I have caught up on the weekend thread yet, so I'm sure there are more.

Count me in as one who had a great run yesterday!
I went out by myself as my running buddy had stuff to do. I was kind of dreading it b/c I hate running alone, even though it was a beautiful day. But DH kicked me in the butt and reminded me that running would be tough this coming week b/c he's going to be in Seattle. On a whim, I grabbed my DS's Ipod and went on my way. Had no watch, just the music to keep me occupied...I've never run outside with music before. I felt really good, but knew I was working hard. I got in the door after 5 miles and checked the clock...42 minutes!!!
I'm still excited about it today...can you tell?

I'm just cutting and pasting this in from my thread...

I was the last to post last night (you ok, Kini?) and the first to post this morning...what the heck is going on?

Today is a very good day in Red Sox nation...sorry Tribe.

As I posted yesterday...my 6 miles was awful. Dreadful. Painful. Horrible. I was done physically at mile 1. I needed fuel at mile 3 or I was taking the T home (got some powerade...I wish the bottles were smaller, since I threw 2/3 away); needed water at mile 4 or I was taking the bus home; at mile 5, walking, I ate an old, expired gel just to get me home. I swear the only reason I didn't quit this run is because of what I said in my interview the other day!

At least Sat's run wasn't bad.

Will walk today...I need a break from running.

Fitted the dress to the woman yesterday...need to get that done tonight. Almost done anyway.

Good runs and great races (Kris E! Kriddie!) this weekend!!! I'm sure there is more I want to say, but I'm forgetting...it's early still.

Greetings...

Beautiful Monday morning here, doesn't really feel like October - ran in shorts/t-shirt today and this time last year I was running in long sleeves/gloves/hat because the high was in the 40s. So far though the weather forecast for the race this weekend is looking pretty good. 5.25 miles this morning in 54:00. Nice easy effort, this time last year that would have killed me. So I guess training does work.

Theia - whether you see it or not Happy Birthday.

Semi-Speedy, Kriddie, Kris, anyone else I missed -great job racing this weekend.

Back later to see what the QOD is...and can we keep it to 15 pages or less today?
