Morning! Just got back from the gym and showering and all that good stuff. It's Friday, so I'm going to treat myself to a lunch I didn't make (and a breakfast I also didn't make) and a movie and uh, that better be it.

Moe, I incorporated running stuff into my last interview, too. The job you interviewed for sounds pretty sweet from what I read over in the PRT.

Be back. Boss is gone at work, so I can peruse the internet with abandon.

Good morning!

TGIF!!

My sister is coming down tonight to go to the Ohio State-Michigan State game with me. Her 1st time going to an OSU game, it'll be fun. Since it is a 3:30 game, I'll be able to run in the a.m.

Family: I have more siblings than I have 1st cousins. We get along with all our cousins pretty well, but we only see one on a regular basis. I do see my mom's family more than my dad's due to distance, but they are all good people. My family is pretty accepting of individual quirks, which helps a lot.

Tom- In my experience, there are a lot of college freshmen who just aren't ready for college, but are going only because their parents want them to go. By voluntarily taking a break now, your friend's daughter will have an easier time getting established in college in the future when she knows in her heart that she wants to do this for herself and has a goal or dream of her own. If she were to try to slog through when her heart isn't in it, she risks being kicked out of school for poor grades, and that is much more difficult to overcome.

QOD: after this week, students who schedule appointments and then don't show or call to cancel.

Morning all. Got out for an OK 8 miler last night. It took awhile for my hip and hammies to ease into it and just about then my stomach starting doing some weird stuff. I felt sick the rest of the night and still do a bit this morning Anywho, I did bring my stuff with me to get in a run and then hit the gym for some weights.

StartingOver - I sure hope things start improving ...good luck with your OHR week 2 wrap-up!

BigG - I did the same as Lori; bought some clipless bike shoes from Nike. I never know which spin studio I'll be at/which clips I'd be dealing with so the clipless work perfectly!

Nettie - Which movie are you gonna see?

QOD - Give me a sec to think about this one ...I get annoyed easily at certain stuff

Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!!! I see we have Lori (Step up for Diabetes) and Jill (5K) hitting the roads tomorrow. And then Kris E (10 mi) & Hawki (Des Moines HM) gutting it out on Sunday. There was the possibility that Alexis, Maureen, Tom and Pacer would be running some races this weekend too ...any updates?

Good morning, 30s. So it's Friday? It's hard for me to tell this week since I haven't been at work..

Maggie and Jillian will be coming home tomorrow morning, so I'm gonna get my long run in today. And thus I'm just about ready to head out the door for about 18 miles.

It was nice to see the Red Sox play a good game last night. With the last two games at Fenway, I suppose the series isn't over yet. But it remains to be seen if someone other than Beckett can pitch a good game...

Tom, sometimes the best thing you can do for someone is to listen to them and just "be there". You're a good friend...

Tiff, I'm not surprised that South Florida lost. Their "magic" season was due to end sooner or later. I didn't see too much of this game, however, since I spent most of my time last night watching the baseball game...

QOD: Pet peeve? After this week, I'll say bad/inconsiderate drivers. Come on, people! Stop at red lights! Watch for pedestrians! Use your blinkers when you turn! These things aren't that difficult!

Have a great Friday, everyone!

morning

No new running. I have 8 with 10 100 m strides today. I was going to go out this morning but the rain was sideways....no thank you. I'll wait until after work when I hear it MAY STOP RAINING!! Seriously I feel like I am living in Seattle. 17 out of 19 days in Oct..RAIN!

QOD: clipping one's nails at one's desk at the office. ew

Maureen, aren't you going to tell everyone about your big coup spinning the Big Wheel o' Prizes? In addition to my thong story, I do think it bears mentioning that Maureen was extremely polite and actually listened to the rather long spiel given by a woman who wanted to sell her pole-dancing lessons. I won't mention whether she signed up or not.

I haven't done any exercise since Monday, yet I feel like I've been put through my paces this week. Spin class and hopefully some running/walking this weekend.

Family: I have one sister whom I'm very close to. I do see my parents with some frequency, but I wouldn't call us superclose. I did, however, hit the in-law jackpot and consider myself very fortunate there.

Morning, everyone!

Despite the forecast of rain all day, I am in a pretty positive mood this morning. My practice talk went well yesterday, and for once, I'm actually motivated to work on my job talk/dissertation/schoolwork. Good job vibes out to Moe, kj, and Dom and everyone else looking for work/transitioning at work. A friend who's also on the job market this year and I talk 3-4 days per week about getting jobs. I've never been so obsessed about employment in my life!

Maples, great job sticking with OHR (you, too, Startingover!). I'm also impressed that you're working out outside of your runs. That's something that I definitely need to start doing again.

I'm on the DL at least for today. I'm going to try to get out tomorrow, but I may have to wait until Sunday or Monday to run again. While I'm enjoying sleeping in; I still miss it. I guess absense really does make the heart grow fonder.

QOD: Anywho. I know this is quite popular, but I grind my teeth everytime I hear it. I actually didn't go on a date with a guy b/c he kept saying it when we were talking on the phone.

Well, Happy Friday, everyone!

How about clipping your toe nails at someone else's desk? How about picking scabs and ...eating them!!! Yes, I have a guy at work who does this sort of stuff and it is just the tip of the ice berg! One day he came into my office, without shoes and socks and put his feet up on my little cabinet. I hate feet and his were about the worst I had ever seen. Blech, bad memories

Morning Peeps:

Here's where I was sitting last night. not as cool as if I'd sent it last night but i don't have internet access on my phone. I could i just don't want to pay for it.

The game last night was great. Corporate boxes are nice. Sens won 4-3 against the Canadians. I had a little mishap happen. I guess years of rooting for the Canadians stuck last night because when they tied the game up 3-3 I jumped out of my seat cheering. Then I realized what I had done. My husband snapped the guilt pic. Shame Shame Shame.
Oh well. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all win? Just once.

Maples: Thanks for the Hockey Standings. Makes my heart pound fast to see the Sens at the top of the charts.

Maureen: What if...you got that job...and you were absolutely wonderful at it....and you loved going there.....and you met really nice people ....and they really liked you.....and you enjoyed going to work everyday.....and you wondered why you didn't make the switch sooner.....what if all that happened? It could happen!

Eccabex: Have fun on your busy day!

Noni: your new avatar is not so blue but just as nice.

Jill: I saw that movie with a girlfriend of mine. she brought her 13 year old daughter. We spent 3/4 of the movie laughing our heads off because of how inappropriate it was to bring her 13 year old daughter. she almost brought her 10 year old!

Hi LL!

Hugs to Mr. Cranky Pants {{{I'm not touching anything vital}}}

QOD: When people are ignorant to how their behaviour affects others. Drives me freaking nuts!

Beaker: How you feelling these days? Everything good?

Morning people...

my day actually sounds a lot like Nettie's - planning on a lunch I'm not making and we're seeing a movie tonight - Into The Wild is finally opening here in Michigan.

Four miles last night at a pretty quick pace - not enough light to do my full workout and I don't have one of Brandy's cool flashing-thingys - last hard run before the HM next weekend. Think I'm ready.

Startingover - remind me which side of the state are you on? It got pretty wild/windy/rainy here last night but most of the really bad stuff was north of GR.

Wow, it is Friday. I read this and thought "wait, who is telling people I go around flashing people!?"

Need more sleep!

I heard you were going to be one for Halloween too. Damn rumors!

Mornin' Gang!

Happy Friday!

I am pleased to report that the gales of November have subsided, but, if I hear one more person say (with a straight face while looking at ALL THE FREAKIN' STANDING WATER ON THE GROUND) that we need the rain, I refuse to be held responsible for the consequences. Just sayin'.

Maureen - It's nice to hear your words, my friend.

BigGJen - tell DS that Mary said no to the camera - I'll be your bad cop.

Morning Solar!!

Morning Jill!

Maples - WOOHOOO!! (And thank you for the lovely compliment, you are a sweetheart!)

Nettie can play today - Yippee!!!

Hey there LLConciseberg. . .

(((Litch))) - hang in there. Hate the scale when it does that.

Tom, as others have said - you're a good friend.

Tonya - congratulations on finding those muscles again!!!! Now. . .if I could just find mine. . .

QOD - flip flops with dressier clothes. And the misuse of the word, borrow.

Good luck to all our racers this week-end!!!!!

Anyone got any interesting other plans? I hear boB might be bringin' home a baby. . .

How about flippin' clipping nails during a church service!!! GAAAAAAAAAAAA

QOD This might be to broad an answer but I think what gets me most is when people are blatantly inconsiderate. Some guy was in our office this week and tracked mud everywhere. We have multiple mats outside the main doors. Yet you can trace his every step. People who come in our office with little ones and get on the computer and ignore the kids for the rest of the time they are here. The kids screaming, yelling, running wild everywhere. grrrrrrrr People who come sit at your desk, then take a cell phone call in the middle of a conversation with me- and I am trying to help them get a job... Oh wait! Did I turn this question into "pet peeves at work?" LOL

OOooooooooo, my "Bass for Dummies" book might come in this afternoon. It's been 3 days since it shipped from the Ebayer in loverly Pennsylvania. I might spend some of my evening playing around with the bass if a woman doesn't fall out of the sky into my lap today. (it's Friday right? )

Kp finally bought Into the Wild, started reading it last night, already love it!

Winter feeling great, actually!!! After such a crappy first trimester, this is like a total switch!!! Much more energy and no sickness. I have been able to workout much more which may end up getting me in trouble. I gained what I think is good deal of weight the first 3 months, mainly cause I was just too tired to move!!! But now that I am able to workout and have been making healthier food choices, I have lost a couple of pounds. But in my legs, definately not in the belly region, that is definately still getting much bigger!!! I just want to make sure i stick to a healthy weight gain, the women in my family have a history of huge gains!!!

QOD - the phrase "Can I ask you a question?" I hear it non-f*cking-stop from student athletes. Just ask me what you want to ask.

I'm glad to hear it's all going well now. Enjoy this trimester it is the best of the 3. Oh and we need tummy shots! Once a month if you please!

I did exactly the same thing.

For Dummies. Wah?
