Hi 30s, hi Jen!

Didn't run last night. Now i need to run tonight, tomw and Sun. I think I'm running a 10K in Dot (Firefighter's Run) on Sun...will probably meet Chris the Wheeler, fort hose who venture into the PRT and have seen his posts.

Interview went well. I think I kinda sorta want the job. It makes my tummy hurt thinking about it though. I don't like change.

About the interview...the VP asked me if I'm ambitious. That's a hard question and I wasn't sure how to answer it. Because I don't think I'm very ambitious, but how do you say that and make it sound reasonable? I said, "well, I'm not going to tell you about my work. I run. I'm not a very good runner. I'm actually a really bad runner. I'm really slow. Really really slow. I actually won my age group in a race a couple weekends ago because of a computer error and there is no way I would have won otherwise. I'm slow, I walk, I'm not very good at it..." [VP says, "but you enjoy it."] "yes, I enjoy it. I do. But more to the point, no matter how slow I am, no matter how hard it is, I would never NOT finish a race. I don't give up. My running friends tell me all the time, other people would have given up on running a long time ago, but you keep at it. So, I guess that's how I'm ambitious. I keep at it and I always finish."

(that only sounds Fridayesque, because it IS Friday, now get your dirty little minds out of the gutter. )

So, thanks guys, I worked you all into my interview.

Could NOT keep up with you folks after I got home last night. I went out with the lovely Diane; we went to Style Fixx...one of those gril's night out events, like someone else went to this week (only we paid $30...but the swag was pretty good.) Funniest moment is when we went to dinner and Diane was poking around in her bag o' goodies and said, "what's this?" She started to pull something out, then stopped abruptly, and said very quietly to me, "it's a thong!" There was one in every bag, although hers was prettier than mine.

Beautiful babes around here...oh and Dan and Bob's little ones too!

Scratch...PEER PRESSURE PEER PRESSURE PEER PRESSURE!!!!!

Family: my mom's dad died when she was 5. I don't really know any of her family. I couple of random cousins here and there, but no one close. Evidently there are some. My aunt (her sister) only has 2 step daughters, who are estranged from her, inheritence issues when her husband, their father (my uncle) died. On my father's side, a lot more, we're Italian, everyone's a cousin, but my aunt, his sister, only had one son and he died a few years ago, so I have no blood related first cousins now. I wish my family was bigger.

I am verbose this morning. At least I'm feeling better. Money issue is getting cleared up and health issue...well, it's probably not one, but even if it is, it's probably not serious. I'm ok.

I'll check in later.

Verbose is good! Hi Maureen!

Hi Solar!

GO MAPLES!

It's a super crappy day for a field trip to the zoo. DS is sulky cuz I won't let him take the digital camera on the field trip. This is from a kid who has lost two Gameboys. It's just not gonna happen.

Watched that movie, Knocked Up, last night. Funny stuff, especially at the end. Now I've got to get my 3 year old motivated enough to wake up and go to school, always a fun task!

Maples, how did the run go?? Hurray for Maples!!!

Maureen, I am so glad to hear that your interview went well. That was a good move incorporating your running into it. Shows your creativity, as well as making things a bit personal. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Gotta hit the gym during DD's school time. I skipped yesterday's run (bad on me) and am in dire need of some weight lifting. Good morning to everyone.

Good morning 30's

Glad to hear the interview went well, Moe!

Maples,how was the run?

We had a zoo field trip this week, too, Jen.Hope you have fun!

Hi Scratch, Jill, and Solar!

Busy day for me today. I am keeping a friend of mine company for part of her long run. Then I have to go be mystery reader at DD2's school. I hope I'm not too sweaty and stinky, but it is way humid! Then I have to try to get her to take her swim lesson. Then home for pilates.
Tonight, DH and the girls are going to a Halloween party and I have my soccer game. I really need to get some of this aggression out, so that will help!

Have a fabulous day!

Yeah, I'm taking a day off just to chill and relax. Don't know what the weather is supposed to do. Have to check the forecast, if it's okay for this morning, maybe I'll go out and take a long relaxed walk. If the forecast isn't so okay, I'll see what else I can think of.

Hrrmmmmmmmmm, forecast isn't too good and the radar isn't promising, stuff's out to the west and moving northeasterly, but it's supposed to keep creeping eastward.

Morning. I'm cranky. Put on 3 effin pounds this week even though I have had soup and or salad every day for lunch, and have not been snacking between meals, and had a good week until today, which I blew off. And a stupid fight with the wife. Sorry for being Mr. cranky-pants.

Morning
Power went out at 2:15 this morning. I never went back to sleep....need caffiene. A tornado touched down last night about 15 miles from my house. One 29 year old man dead. He lived in a trailer and was inside when it blew off the foundation. 2 more people are injured and in the hospital when the tornado destroyed a portion of their house. I have never been that close to a tornado before, although 15 miles is pretty far. That explains the uneasiness I was feeling all afternoon. We just have some tree branches down, nothing major.

Tonight I will be finishing up week 2 of OHR on the dreadmill.

I almost dropped out of college... I quit going to a 4 year school, and was going to a community college part time. Then I realized that I needed to get serious, and get an education. I threw myself into it, went back to school... finished up...

I know it's tough for him, but his daughter is young, and she still has time to change her mind, maybe she just needs a change of scenery... maybe a smaller school. Maybe she just needs to see what the real world is like for a year or two... maybe she'll go back, and maybe she won't...

I can't even imagine how hard it is for your friend though. We all want the best for our kids.

I'm back. Everything was fine. No pain, no fatigue. Only a splitting headache to battle but that's another story. I could have kept going if I had time. Three weeks to go and I am up to an hour. Thanks for the kind words everyone. You folks are swell

I saw last night that Ms. McTortle changed her avatar. What a beautiful picture. You didn't tell us you were moonlighting as a model on the side! Tsk, tsk, I guess we just learn more about people every day.

Morning all!
Good run that seemed to take forever on the treadmill yesterday. Also I have started a weights program. I have to say it feels good. Like I am getting back in touch with my muscles... we had been estranged

Sorry it's a cranky-pants kinda day for you Litch

Yeah, I wanna ask the QOD What is your one absolutely worst pet-peeve? What one thing will drive you up the wall fastest?

Morning all! It's been one of those weeks at work... a few more turns for the worse than our team is use to and the three 12's in a row this week kicked my butt. We had some tough losses which is why I spent a lot of time at the gym yesterday trying to get past them.

That and the Rutgers/USF game... wow.

I was supposed to post some more info for Flem I remembered last night while I was at the gym. Not sure if you're checking the board while you're here but I'll try and get that info to you today if it helps out this late. I'm very sorry about that.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and wonderful weekend.

Hey kiddos!!!! So excited it is Friday!!!! And tonight is my monthly girls night out dinner, good times!!! But I will have to eat and run, have to be up VERY early tomorrow for the Step Up for Diabetes, 10mile walk with 1000 stairs thrown in for good measure. I can't wait, should be fun!!!

So had to work late yesterday. I hardly ever have to but yesterday was hellish, it was nonstop for 9 hours, I was about to leave and my boss asked me to set something else up. The look I shot her was obvious but I did it anyway. Hurried home (missed my nephews hockey game!!) but made it to tri class in time for a LONG swim and a spin class. I was wiped out after!!!

Hey BigG I bought a really nice pair of Nike bike shoes. I was not ready to commit to clipless pedals but the pair I have has a hard, flat bottom and you can actually add the clip part in later. Definately worth the investment!! ($75 I think)

Maples glad the run went well!

Moe will keep fingers and toes crossed about this job!!!

LHills perhaps your soup had lots of salt in in and you are just holding onto water? 2 weeks ago I made my fall switch to soup, had it alomst every day for lunch, noticed my feet and hands had swelled up quite a bit!

Tom you're a good friend!!!

I will check back for a QOD later...the lab is calling!
