DS has animal names for his #2s: snake poop, whale poop, rabbit poop...all pretty much self-explanatory. He describes to all those in earshot what animal poops he gave birth to: "Mommy, there's a daddy snake poop and two baby snakes in the toilet!!! Come see!!"

Frankie, we also just let DS go at his own pace. He was the same way as your DS, he would pee on the potty no problem, but would poop in his pants 5 minutes later. I think if we had not used pullups he would have gotten the hang of it sooner. DS considered the pullup to be the same as a diaper and thought it was OK to poop in it, so I think he was confused when we put regular underwear on him. Things were very messy at first and I had to throw out a few pairs of underwear! We started to reward him with a small toy on those days he remembered to poop on the potty. He was just getting interested in the Cars movie so we bought a half dozen of those small die-cast Car toys and showed them to him. We told him that if he kept his underwear clean all day tomorrow he would get to pick another Car. A week later all the Cars were his and he's been using the potty ever since. (Touching wood!)

Theia, hope you feel better! Glad you could get in to see the doctor so quickly!

QOD: When I lived in the city I used to go to a public gym. I was such a gym rat that the management asked me to take the instructors course so I could teach there! Yes! Talk about being paid for doing something you love. I taught there for about two years. Then I had to move and at the time my new town had no gym so I took up running again! We now have a gym here but it's not open early enough in the morning for me to consider joining.

Thanks for your thoughtfulness, Tonya!

Good news / bad news:
Good -- DD was in town this weekend. We had TONS of time with just the two of us, and had some of the best talks and most fun EVER. Love that kid. She's going to start coming over a lot more often. She's having problems dealing with her mom (aka Shewhomustnotbenamed).

She's starting to talk about wanting to move in with me!!! How incredibly cool would that be??? (of course, that would probably spell the end of DW and I... she has issues w/ DD. Loooonnnggg story)

Bad news - no running. Also, no sleep last night. Had a whole weekend worth of work to do in one night. Got to bed at 3:30.. Still, I am going for 3 tonight after work, and THEN hitting the proverbial wall.

Frankie- like everyone else said, don't push the potty training. We pushed DD to do poopy on the potty and she ended up in the emergency room with rectal prolapse from pushing to hard (remember my posts in February). Anyway, after lots of tests it turns out she was fine and just holding so we just let it be. Now she's fully trained. The only encouragement we gave was after she actually went, then we'd buy her toy she had been asking for or give her a special fancy lollypop or something.

haven't been able to read yet, so I hope you're have a good start to the week. I was driving in this AM and saw these...

Sorry about the poor quality - it's too bad you can't make out the 1st one - it's a jack-o-lantern.
Ok everyone I am seriously depressed now. I have learned that I was 15 minutes away from the incredible Macabeth on Friday..

Really, people? I know it's only Monday, but I find it tough to believe that I'm the ONLY ONE who did a double take with this statement...

nothing is better!

Hey girl I got somethin' real important to give you
So just sit down and listen
Girl you know we've been together such a long long time (such a long time)
And now I'm ready to lay it on the line
(Wooow) You know it's Christmas and my heart is open wide
Gonna give you something so you know what's on my mind
A gift real special, so take off the top
Take a look inside -- it's my ...

To all the fellas out there with ladies to impress
It's easy to do just follow these steps
1: Cut a hole in a box
2: Put your junk in that box
3: Make her open the box
And that's the way you do it

Monday's gone Friday all over the place!

Maria: Loved it! loved the red dress. but dick in the box is still #1.
I'm sending you something email baby. You're gonna die.

Aw poor baby. You definately missed out on meeting a very cool, great to be around example of our fellow 30s

maybe it's 'cause I'm tired and I've had a stupid busy day. Great job to all our weekend racers!

Feel better vibes to Theia and Bob's dad (continued)

Funny potty training stories. My nephew declares, "Don't watch! Don't tell me what I'm doing!" and then runs to the bathroom "for privacy"

I'm not sure anyone saw it, but I finally posted some of my favorite thoughts about this 30's group in answer to the Friday QOD in this weekend's thread... And I should have added how great Pacer was in taking the time to write out such a long, detailed email response to some questions I had about marathon training. That was so early in my participation here on this thread, and I was taken aback with how terrific that email was

Today's QOD: I go to the gym for weights, some TM running, some cross-training, somewhat of a social outlet, etc. I've never taken classes at this current gym, however... I think I'm going to be switching gyms soon, to get a membership at one with a pool.

Check this out. A new twist on an old classic:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHyv4b4p-Mw

(don't view at work if this sorta thing gets you in trouble...but it's too funny)

Tim, what's your new avatar? F-111? Tornado? Any particular significance?

PSA - caught the new flick The Darjeeling Limited yesterday and would def. recommend it to those that like Wes Anderson's work. It's quirky, funny and entertaining but odd ...in a Wes Anderson-oddball way.

I was unaware of both of these.. Dick in a box is fargin' hilarious. The other one is funny and creative, but not LOL funny.

Yeah, it's an F-111 taking off in after burner. I was looking at changing my avatar and looked in my F-111 folder. My Dad flew them in the USAF. This avatar would've been more appropriate a couple of weeks ago when I ran the USAF marathon, but better late than never. Thanks for asking.
Looks very similar to an FA-18 Hornet too. Those old F-111s were cool though. Betcha ol Ghadafi didnt think so back in the mid 80s when they unloaded a whole bunch of ordinance on him
