Hey guys. Check pop in during lunch break. Thanks for the support about my latest lame attempt at starting a thread. Maybe one of these days I'll get one to survive...

And thanks for all the camera advice so far. Looks like Canon is the leading candidate. I'll definitely check one out. Yeah, we certainly want one that can take fast pictures. Our (4 year old) Cybershot is a little slow, and that's definitely something we want to improve on. I'll make sure to check out the speed of the models we look at.

Well, that's all I can take time for now. See y'all again late this afternoon...

Tim - all I got to say about a successful season is that this year is "one for the thumb" War Eagle.

great pics everyone (Mary brave to post the one of you in tears! )

QOD - I should stretch. Hell I tell other people they need to work on their flexibility almost everyday, but do I listent to my own advice? nope.

ooooo..good QOD!!

I have several:

I don't stretch enough

I run my recovery too fast (speed work too slow today too)

I tend to get frustrated in crowded starts of races and waste energy trying to get some daylight

I am a slave to my Garmin (and she is a beyotch somedays)

Morning gang, busy weekend, hardly read the thread.

have not read anything other than the last page here today.

will read race reports and respond for sure. sounds like I have some fun reports to read!!

But all the really matters today is

HEROES IS BACK

WOOOOHOOOOO

my whole morning was shot by sitting in on my first harrassment claim investigation-boss giving me a personal growth opportunity. Wow-intersting stuff.

off to lunch and short run I think.

be back later gang.

Hi all! No time to catch up on the weekend thread.

Love the pics of the kiddos! Glad to hear the 30's wimmins had a splendid time together.

Busy weekend. Saturday looked like this: 6:30 - short run. 8:30 - DD's soccer game. 10:30 - rush DD to her friend's Bday party. 1:30 - pick her up and rush off to longstanding 2:00 portrait appt. Shop for baby gift, go to baby shower at 4:00. Meanwhile, an old friend was busting into town, and staying at our place. So he and his DD (3 y.o.-- cutest thing EVER) arrive at 8 -- and WE ARE STILL AT THE SHOWER!!! Longest baby shower ever. Home, and beers and catch-up time until 1:30 a.m. wow.....

Sunday - breakfast with everyone, then off to DD's cross-country meet (DW is the coach). I got in some speed work as I ran the last 100 yds with a few of the younger kiddos.

Yardwork until darkness descended. Then, work until 3 am. WHEW!!

Tonite, DW has a mtg with the Team In Training crew, so DD and I are on our own. I'll go for a run whenever DW gets home.

OK -- back to work. I hope all are well!

Good mornin', again!

Beautiful kids, Tim and Hawki, and cute niece Maria!

Sounds like the Mountain Wimmins had a great weekend.

Great race pics, Merry Mary! Gotta love the full range of racing emotions!

Are you into Daniels Phase IV yet, KP? Phase III is peaking for me over the next few weeks. 50M for me this week. Yikes!

Got out for 8.1M this morning in 1:16 and change. It was 62* and dry (46* dewpoint) when I started, which was absolutely beautiful! It's supposed to get warmer throughout the week though. Too bad, I could get used to this fall weather.

QOD: I used to stretch too much. Now I probably don't stretch enough. I should really commit myself to spending more quality time with the foam roller.

Rabbits can be VERY dangerous. Big pointy teeth!

Maria Cute niece but I gotta tell you - if I had seen her around 4:30 yesterday afternoon, I would have been saying "HAHAHAHA! the Steelers RULE!" I would have felt guilty later, but I can't lie that I wouldn't have done that, even to a tot.

PTom Oh, the bet is totally on...I was trying to put into perspective for my supplier that 70-75 seconds is blazing, and as much as I run, I wouldn't be too anxious to bet $$ so perhaps he should rethink. He chose not to - I told him I would try it for myself just to see what I could do...I'm expecting a check from him at any moment!

Timr You think the Kenyans have to do crap like yardwork and assembling playsets and dealing with poopy diapers and painting bathrooms pink like we do?! That's why we are so much more impressive than those pro runners who just eat, sleep and run all day long! And yes - I'm totally jealous of them...

Running Fwah Pwahs (a co-worker of mine mispronounced faux pas so this is how we say it around here) - I too don't stretch as much as I outta, sometimes I do easy runs too fast or too long, I usually start looking forward to the next marathon a few days before a marathon to ease the pressure, and I should lift weights more (and by more I mean lift weights at all). I also fart a lot when I run and I've been known to moon my running partners (Winter that would show you I have a backside!)
