It's odd, he coughed and hacked on Friday night... as Saturday progressed, he coughed and hacked less and less, and I don't think he coughed at all yesterday. I'm planning on calling the vet this afternoon to see if they want to see him, or if it's something we can just keep an eye on.

I hope Penny feels better!

Merry Mary McTortle I don't see him either. I hope nothing happened.

Good Morning, running friends!! This weekend was crazy and I didn't get in here much. Should I go back and read the threads?

This morning was a chilly 13 miler for me. My body feels good, nothing is tight, nothing is sore. Ok, well my ass is tight, but it always is. I have no injuries to report of.

Mondays suck around here. I hope Mondays in HERE are awesome. I need a pick me up. I didn't go for a double this morning and I seriously regret it. I'm already tired.

Morning. Just got done reading a bunch of race reports. A bunch of great results. I knew this was going to happen with all the running and hard work done this summer and the cooler weather of fall. You guys really are an inspiring bunch.

As for my running, I decided to do my last 20 miler as a race. The whole goal was to take it easy for the first 15 miles and then bring the pace down to around 7:05-:10 the last five. It's a tough little course and I haven't done any sort of hillwork this summer, plus I didn't want to do what I did last year and run a 41:00 last 10k. I really felt that I ran too hard this time of the year and I paid for it at my fall marathon.

The course is two laps of a local lake and it was cold and windy. Anyways, went out at 7:30 pace the first 10 miles. Then I was stuck in a little pack of six guys going back into the start area. This girl came by and passed us all, decided it was time to go. So the 11th mile was something like 7:05. The girl was breathing a little heavy and kept trying to drop me. I really didn't want this to turn into a race, but it was making the long run a bit more enjoyable. So I just tucked in next to her and when we got to the first long hill I made a little move and dropped her a little bit. But then she caught me on the downhill. I could tell that I could lose her on the steep part of the course. Sure enough, I put down another 7:00 mile and dropped her about mile 14. It was good fun.

I finished in 2:26:40, about :90 slower than last year. It was a good, solid long run to end the hard training. I easily had another 10k in me at 7:00/mile pace. I finished 37th overall out of 1,000+. Not too bad for a training run.

I stayed about 90 minutes after to see a couple friends finish. It's such an amazing experience to see all the smiles and emotions of runners finishing such a long race. I think there's more that I want to say about it, but just can't find the words right now.

Well, Finebaum (a local sports radio guy, but a heavy hitter in AL) was predicting Tubberville to be fired if MSU beat'em (aka "Croomed". Personally after his record he deserves to be allowed one bad year. (But hey, I thought Shula deserved another season after 10 Ws in '05.) AU's freshman QB looked pretty good tough, and MSU would've lost if not for the 3 ints.

Bottom line: State is looking better but, I'm not thinking they're a bowl team yet.

Hi Winter!

It is so fun to read these race reports. I'm starting to get my thoughts together on my race yesterday, so I'll write a report when I get a few minutes to do it...

By the way, startingover (and who else is the Michigan fan?) -- a little QB change and, GO BLUE! Nice to see a check in the win column!

ok, lunch time... (yeah, it's early this year... ugh.)

HighHeat - Those are cool pictures!! Thanks for sharing them with everyone. Do you do this a lot?

Mind if I sneak a peak at the rest of the pictures?

Nice Race Shawn! Congrats on the strong finish.

Yeah I totally had another 10k in me at 7:00/mi at the end of my 5K this morning too...

Man I hate when they do that. I'm about to start leaving my goalie mask and machete at home, I'm so tired of it.

Yeah, Finebaum's show originates from here in the 'ham. I got my first radio job working at WERC where Finebaum was at the time. So, we've known each other as work collegues for about 12 years now. I cross paths with him from time to time. Today's show should be a good one.

Way to Rock Baggs...you lazy sumbitch! I'll bet you had that girl breathing heavy.
