3200 meters outside in the longcourse pool

Mid 60's for temps, the wind was COLD when we were wet, but the water's heated so it was a nice workout. There was the impression of a tail wind at times. Great practice for OW swims.... wind, clouds, sun. Different goggles. The big difference is the lane lines. In the pool, even outside, you can only go SO FAR off course. Then, you hit a lane line. On the other hand, that makes you swim longer than the 50 meters in a lap..... the zig zagging adds to your yardage....or, would it be "meterage?"

I had vertigo today for the first time other than an occasional twinge of it. Every time I went from FR to BK, the pool would get all tippy. Focusing on the black line helped bring things back into order, though.

Personally, I think being the only girl there was also a contributing factor. Swimming in a testosterone pool will do it to anyone....I mean really! And, keeping up was a challenge as a result. Those boys can swim fast! Even thought it's "just master's swimming" the kind of swimming that's known for modifying workouts and intervals....when I tried.... (I was SERIOUSLY behind the group).... "how bout I just go half way up and half way back to get caught up....." Coach was, "how 'bout NO....go, do the whole thing." (*sigh*) Sometimes, you just need that kick in the ass, ya know?

All in all, it was a good workout.

Since we were outside, there wasn't the whiteboard there for coach to write the sets...so, I really don't remember much of what we did...except a lot of kicking, and a lot of sprinting at the end.
