Intervals in the snow last night wearing my XC spikes.

7 of us braved the weather and had what was a great fun session, don't get me wrong we worked hard but it is fair to say that snow angels and jamming people out of the tyre tracks so they had to run in the deep snow did take place.

10 x 440 metres with the reps between 5.10 and 5.40 mile pace.

Focus on staying upright at speed was the main thing and all speed was a bonus.

They think we will get more snow and ice this weekend so expecting to run a few more times in spikes and spend lots of time on the indoor trainers.

I commute to work on a bike and noticed the roads are worse than yesterday and we have more people using them. :¬0

Stay Safe

Good morning everyone

Gobi - nothing seems to stop you and I have mucho respect for guys who ride in the amount of snow you have over there

ks - you're complaining about the weather; you gotta be kidding

breger - just face it, you're twisted

Ribs - better start thinking of a new name cause when you get up to 70 pushups you won't be spareribs no more!

Daave - thanks for the heads-up. Didn't know that SS is our resident terrorist?

Seeker - thought about asking God? considering the stuff you might be into, that's a good option

all those sickies and those bearing up in single digit weather = {{{{{}}}}'s

Riley - I would leave bears, skunks and Jack Bauer's alone. Hope your DD gets better

3J - I'm with you; rather run in snow than no snow

Peter - see what happens when you leave "da Bronx"

Dove - are you becoming even more maniacal about your running mania?

MS - are you talking dirty?

Did 4 miles on rolling hills. I rolled nicely when they went downward, not so when they went up

His roommate probably filled him in.

I'm thinking it's time for this whole crowd to take a temporal trip backwards to the ER !

I sent a private msg to seeker this morning. I told him we are religously diverse and well as occupationally. Physicist to pastor and etc. It sometimes takes a while to learn what is acceptable in a group like this.

ER was gone before I came along.

ER also before my time. He must have been pretty bad to have left such a lasting impression.

I could've sworn the thread title said "tropical", not "topical", when I first saw it this morning... wishful thinking, I suppose...

Went to yoga this morning (for a change). I figured my body needed a little rest from all the running I've been doing lately. But it's funny, the more I run, the more I crave it. Well, there still is this afternoon, so we'll see how much the park beckons me once more.

Don't know who this ER dude is, though I've heard mention often enough over the couple years that I've been here. I almost wish there was something in that watchamacallit wiki that MS is always strutting in her tagline, advising us "newer" folks how not to post...

Yes, it's funny that ER has come to mind the past couple of days.

Rose: Gobi one Kanobi was a great line.

Nice to see Glidegal getting back into it and posting again.

Figures Breger would reply with an "ah shucks," but it is true that he stays in great shape. Good on you Bill.

It was about 28 when I headed out, determined that shorts would be okay, but it wasn't my legs that got cold. It was my face. What an awful wind. I last 1.1 miles then finished on the Y indoor track then did some elliptical, 8.3 in all. Flex and core workout day and of course my 7 pushups. Spareribs

I got broadsided by a stomach virus tuesday afternoon so no running the last two days. Tuesday night was much tougher than a workout. Luckily, it was the 24 hour variety and I am feeling much better.

Ran 8 miles on the treadmill this morning and the pace seemed a little harder than it should but I ran by effort instead of what the machine said. Planning another 8 miles this evening.

I still haven't figured out what Ksrunr's new avatar is. Can somebody help me out with that?

Thanks for the update MC.

Hi Rosie! I guess it's kind of like a timeout, I never really paid all that much attention because this particular forum never had a need for it. I'd like to keep it that way.
I think though someone in moderation's posts have to be read to be sure they are acceptable before they can be posted. I barely have time to keep up with the daily let alone do that!!

ETA Rip, I think it's a longhorn bull, a Texas thing.

johnny, I have to leave the two old guys in the avatar . . . that's what makes me look so young.

rip - Texas Longhorns. BCS Bowl tonight. I would give you a hug for your stomach virus but I'm afraid you'd puke on me.

warm out today, probably mid 50's. planning on about 4.5 during my lunch break. but no nekkid running for me (bill ). Will wear shorts, just like Ribs.

Tammy, you beat me to it. I was going to say it was a Rorschach test.

All this ER talk... thought you might get a chuckle out of this I dug up from the grave.. classic group therapy

http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/Fo...004208-2.shtml

if I was going for the rorschach test, then I'd have to say it was a uterus with two ribs sticking out of it, instead of the 8 ribs like SR's avatar.

I'm glad I knew what it was though, because the other image is sort of disturbing. . .

10k along the river.

Watched an eagle dive down to the meter thick ice and shatter through to catch a fish. It was a stunning nearly unbelievable sight and it was with reluctance that I climbed the hill to where I'd parked my lemon yellow porsche and drove back to the gym to complete my max burn Precor workout.
