Howdy y'all! Well, we know where I am, obviously, but to be more specific, it's NW Houston. For the Houstonians, I'm just north of Jersey Village. I use the JV track sometimes, when I get tired of running on concrete. Wish there was a nice mulch or gravel trail nearby. Thanks for starting this thread, satfix. We're practically neighbors!

Now, I should have KNOWN that was you!!! I was gonna go to your MySpace page and tell you I was here, but I kept forgetting. That and I can't pry the laptop away from my kid.

So glad to be chattin' with you again! Happy 2008!

That TxIndRun looks awesome! But I am nowhere near in good enough shape to actually contribute to a team. If there was a team that was doing it just to do it and is laid-back about it, I might could fit in. But my miles are still about 10:30 on purpose. I will work on competing soon, but not yet.

That would be great! Our team name is "Runnin' with the Posse". I'm really excited - I get to run the first leg! Will do just over 18 miles total with 4 legs, per our captain. That doesn't include the first and last little parts we do all together. Will pm you in just a bit.

Hey, ks, I've got 1, 13, 25 and 37. So we're both doing 13! We are starting earlier, but we're slower, so maybe we meet at that time? Who knows?? Well, I'll holler if I see a CC runner come blazin' by me!

I'm really excited about doing the first leg - that will be fun! And really looking forward to the whole experience! I've emailed everyone at work about it, because I would love to have a VA Med Center team there next year. I hope to pay lots of attention during the whole thing so I can be a captain next year, if needed.

I haven't run a marathon or half-marathon yet, although in the Texas Independence Relay, I did just over 19 miles total, in 4 legs. So I think I could do a half. I will probably wait a couple of years to do a full marathon. I'm 47 with 2 boys, 14 and 11, and they are very active in sports and Scouting, so it's hard to find a way to increase the miles at this time.

Right now, I'm just trying to find an open weekend for a 5K or 10K. Need a carrot....
