Nope bikegirl, under the circumstances, you're kicking ass and going the extra proverbial mile to get some points only because you signed up. It's appreciated! It would also be more than understandable if you backed off.

Willamona, a thousand sorry's for missing your name up there... you're a huge part of the point production and one of the reasons we'd actually be ahead in this thing if all who signed on were participating. Again, Sorry!!!!

For all we know, they could be hurt, but they aren't posting here, so it's ASSumed they quit on us. Who knows... it is what it is, so we go from here and see what we can do!

word.

like the other night I so did not want to "bike" but i was just watching tv and i didn't want to let me team down.
No self inflicted wounds!!

I'll be out of town till Saturday. I'll try to get some points while on the road and I'll post them when I get back.

What is that bike in your avatar?

On the issue of participation, there are always people who sign up and don't report. I was one of those for the first VRAA, and strangely enough they managed to win anyway. I'm sure the other teams have a few non reporters as well.

I think the main objective of these things is to get people out exercising. I know I always tack a few extra miles on when I can, but this time I'm following a training schedule and don't want to screw around with it too much.

Tigger,

The bike is a softride. I ride a trek 2200 but was intriqued by the softride. I bought it on ebay and then took it apart and my son and I rebuilt it. I had it powder coated "shocker yellow" but it is a blinding light green in the sun.

Winning or losing vraa is ultimately no big deal. I just grew up where my word meant something. If I didn't want to particate I wouldn't have signed up.

I'm old enough to be their dad so I just felt like I needed to stick up for the team. All is good. Team "H" is less one runner and I know other teams have same issues too.

Okay y'all I have to admit that I knew ahead of time... I'm cursed and my team never wins.

On the first VRAA, before a lot of the heaviest hitters came in and when teams were smaller, DanQ and I were on the top 5 through the whole VRAA. We didn't win.
It has continued like that. I knew I was cursed, but I keep signing up anyways.

So, my bad!

We haven't lost yet 0 cursed child Quix. We must decide to make a big push here in the next couple weeks to see how it turns out.

But if we don't win; we will sacrifice you to the vraa gods. You've had enough chances.

New standings posted. WE ARE IN FIRST PLACE thru tues. nite. However I was reading the "H" thread and they may not have all points reported for one runner. Nevertheless, we are gaining. This should wind up in 2-3 weeks so get what we can. Sacrifice is still on the table quix.

Great running everyone! Today I managed two runs. First was 10.6 miles. Second was 5 miles. I am on back on track for this week in spite of a heck of a lot of cross country travel.

ksrunr, I ride a Kona Dawg Delux, with a soft tail and a seat about 3 axehandles wide. I'm 57, and my butt won't take those skinny seats and hard rear ends.

If we stay focused for the next two weeks we will win this thing! Stay focused!!!

Tigger and all,
It seems the intensity picked up this week after they posted the results. I believe we have probably dropped to 3rd if they tallied tonight. But it looks like ALL of our team is back action and we should make a run at 'em. I have a little race tomorrow morning so I ran less miles yesterday and today. But tomorrow and next week are going to be high pointers. Hang in everyone.

It takes me a couple days to get used the bike seat again after some time off. My son is a cat 1 semi pro bike racer here in TX. He says you get more sore on those wide seats because you are putting more of yourself per square inch on the seat. Sometimes I think one of those old tractor seats might be the best.

Afternoon team. Tigger; glad you're feeling better. As far as the contest is conerned; just do what you can. We have made a very strong effort and have not embarrased ourselves in any way. (Team H) if you're reading this ; this is not a concession speech!) This vraa just happened to fall into my Jan marathon training schedule so I'm getting more miles now than normal. Those that need rest should rest. No injuries due to vraa.

Dude.

I just want to assure everyone my injury is not due to VRAA. I'm stubborn with or without VRAA. Plus, I'm pretty sure it has more to do with work, originally, than training, since I'm not the only one at work with the same knee pain (though I'm the only one to have it diagnosed as something in particular)

Hey guys! We've opened up some daylight between us and #2. We are getting down to short strokes so keep your spirits up and don't give in to those feelings of fatigue. Just like in a REAL race, the final quarter of the distance is all mental.
