I have to train the the research assistants today, ya know, so they can pretend to do my job when I'm gone. And one older woman who is gonna throw off our whole vibe and is gonna make this training an exercise in patience. She is a pain in my a$$. I'm really mad she feels like she so desperately needs to know how to search Pubmed and can't just take the online tutorial; she's the kinda untechnologically savvy person to whom I will have to explain everything 93 times and then she'll just keep asking questions upon questions...bah.

My DVR has 2 tuners so I can either, record 2 different channels, record one and watch another or swap between them. I think I can also be recording 2 shows while watching an already dvr'd one! That's just the basic box from Comcast .....

And, of course I'm so jealous you are in my (adopted) hometown! It's like a french version of Super Target (except tons better). It's my favorite store in the world. Literally. Oh and go to the Jardin du Luxembourg. BEAUTIFUL (nice for a run, too!) Sorry about the strike. Are the busses running? You could also use those. What about the RER? At least might help some. Ramsey- that is nuts. What if someone were not physically able to walk the tunnel??? I've been through a lot of strikes but that beats them all! 
Ok, time to pick up the kids from lunch. And please no more spoilers on BL.I haven't watched it yet either. Went to a Thrashers game last night. It was so good! They were down 2-1 and everyone was starting to leave. In the LAST 2 SECONDS they scored!!! Went to overtime and scored 1 in the first 25 seconds. Really fun! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile">Winter btw, I've already told my sister to plan on the Montreal game! Do we play the Senators? I'm also going to the Rangers game. Yes!! But at 3 am? Heavens no, more like 5. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Very Happy"> I save quite a bit of money, plus it is just fun. My friend and I have done it for the last 4 years. We shop for a few hours, then get breakfast, then shop some more. Maybe get some lunch. It is time away from the kids and the craziness. I love it. 
That is the only stuff that keeps my kids exzema under control. I limit their bath time and then get this on within a few minutes of getting out. Their skin is so soft. And I love how my hands are so frikken soft after giving them their massages. 
Oh KJ, that just sucks. (((KJ & Family))) Losing a grandparent is teh suck. 
Aw, crap. I keep forgetting about that. I just don't buy alot of music. I have an MP3 player and frankly my 7yo gets 3x more use out of it than I do (need to hear when I run). So I rarely download, except for podcasts (and frankly I have waaay too many of those). My offoce doesn't allow burned Cds, MP3s (considered data storage devices), or even store bought Cds (spyware). <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/sad2.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="sad2"> So it's radio and the occasional Christian Rock CD in the car.

I hate that. any earlier and it is just like staying up late. any later and just get up early, but 3am and you are ripped out of the best part of sleep by one of the otherwise most wonderful people in your life. 
Sorry to hear I am not alone. Work sucks lately. that is all. 
I used to work with a guy who had an uncanny resemblance to Donny. In fact we called him Donny instead of Bob. He hated it, but then some of the girls said they thought he looked like a Donny and they liked it, so he played it up for all it was worth. 
Well, I caught up on page 1. Not likely to be back for much more. Did I mention work sucks lately? Well, it does. Take manager that can't manage and a team member that will deliberately sabotage other peoples work (and get away with it) and you get a very unpleasant atmosphere. I am "this close" <very> to asking HR to step in with some sort of intervention. Or else starting to talk to my recruiters again. DBA work is still something I can easily take and leave if I decided this is not getting better.
