i know i don't post much and maybe this is a strange question, but...

I'm doing IMAZ in two weeks. Its my first IM and I asked my parents over a year and a half ago to be there to support me. they just informed me today they are not going. I'm ridiculously bummed.

They were there for my first two marathons. I've since finished marathons and ultramarathons when they weren't there, but there were always at least some friends around to share the experience with. The one exception was a couple years ago when I threw down a HUGE PR at a marathon that i drove to solo. I was really happy with the result, but it was sort of bittersweet b/c there was no one to experience/share it with.

With this being my first IM, I was REALLY looking forward to having someone there at the finish. This has been a dream of mine for a LONG, LONG time and I'm finally going to do it, but I just know how that feeling of elation diminishes after you cross the finish line and there's no one there.

Anyone else experienced this? Maybe i'm just being a baby about it, but its really bothering me.
