Morning folks,

Up to get in 4 miles since I flaked yesterday on going to the gym. (Seriously, it's hard to convince yourself to spend 2-3 hours of your 4 evening hours going!) I can't wait till it's cool enough to just run outside when I get home. It's already 80* here this morning. At 6am. It's supposed to be 101* again. I feel so lazy in this weather!

Anyway, gonna go for 4 miles. Might join a friend at Body Pump tonight. Only problem is the class is at 7. Which means I'm home at 8:30. We'll see how I feel later!

Wanna congratulate Kini on her great run last night! 3.1 is yours!!

Maria your run sounds great too! I wish I could go run through NYC! I am seriously going to have to make some off season plans to come up there.

Ok, gotta eat my oatmeal and get on my shoes to go!

Happy Humpalump Day!

I had a friend who wiped out in a spinning class - toppled the bike onto her because she was clipped in. That had to be a sight!

I know it happens to everyone - it's happened to me and I've seen it happen several times. Just poking a little fun...I could definitely see it happen if you have to stop quickly in a group.

Are not, are not--at least not from what I hear. Hot is the word on the street about Diane.

You runner types are cracking me up today. So very witty. We should be writing this all down somewhere. Oh, wait...

So, how is it that I'm not so dizzy that I can work, but when I try and run it makes it worse? That is so stinkin' unfair. I was thinking about a 10k on Sat, but that may be out. (Heat of Summer at Nokomis)

I think I need a peanut butter cupcake.

and no, that wasn't slang referring to lusting after anyone's anything...on second thought...maybe it is??

The first couple of pics were might sweaty, but thanks! I don't think I've seen any of your racing pics or maybe just not recently (got a terrible memory!).
Am I wearing the Maria shorts??? They didn't seem to help me.

We did go along the lakefront, but it was between 39th and maybe Roosevelt.

you guys are killing me today..

on the bike tumbles, my poor DW about 4 weeks ago went for a ride with my DS and he cut her off to on a trail while trying to do a wheelie (he is 7) she slamme don the brakes and then bit the bust big time...apparently my DS was laughing so hard they had to wait not just for her to recover but also for him to stop laughing so they could continue biking

Hey there Craney like some others have said, your branch story inspired me to pull some stuff of a trail yesterday

PC - believe me, my falls with clipped pedals have been of the more stupid variety. I've only been regularly been riding since April of this year after an 8-year absence from any bike riding (spinning does not count) so a lot of this is simply due to getting used to riding a bike again. Add in my total non-experience with clipless pedals, and you get stuff like this:

First time I fell, I clipped out okay...but my balance was leaning to the clipped in leg, so I got a nice dose of landscaping rocks to the side of my body.

Second time, I reached an intersection but tried clipping out the leg in the up position - not good. However, I did give the substantial commuter traffic home there a pretty humorous show.

Third time, I got to a fairly steep hill and just brainfarted - I plumb forgot how to shift from the big ring to the granny gear. My speed reached zero, and that darn f=ma equation translated to my upper arm meeting the concrete curb below and beside me.

She's a bit of a peanut butter cupcake, that one.

(seriously though, Diane is adorable...she just doesn't know it.)

OK, there seems to be an issue with my wording so I'll rephrase. I did two tours of duty in Michigan during my childhood. I was there from age 3 - 4th grade, and then again for 11th & 12th grade. The growing up part is still debateable, but I do have more expensive toys now.

uhh... what do you suppose all this talk about marathon running from an almost 30-10 year old is?

oddly enough, perhaps due to differing orientations, i don't find myself ogling young women, just women in general. my lower age limit seems to be late 20s and the upper limit seems to be mid-50s.

Yes it's the afternoon stretch on hump day. We might make it! Back to my Beatles Love cd that I haven't been able to concentrate on yet. I am also still trying to recover from Flemdawgs picture that he found for me. My boss is a MSU graduate and NOT here today. All of my co-workers are begging me to send it to her.

I care about Air Force One, Moe! I've seen it here a few times. The approach to the Air Force base here in town goes right over campus (yeah, that's safe...) so it flies right over my office when W comes to town. I don't recall a fighter escort, though. Also librarian humor (LILF humor?) -- very funny. Nerdy in it's own way.

I just had a mid life crisis moment............ I just helped a HAWT girl at work. BeAuTiFuL lady. It was torment on multiple fronts:

first: seeing her year of birth was the year I graduated high school (she was 20 years old)

2: she called me "sir" about 5 times in 5 minutes

iii: she kept adjusting her bra in the front and she was perfect in that part of the biology........... torment I tells ya!

When she left I walked over to a buddy and said "I hate getting old".....that doesn't make me old but she at least made me feel like an old pervert. I mean don't get me wrong, I am one but I don't need reminding of the fact.

I know a guy in his 40s that just started running 3 years ago and qualified for Boston in his second marathon. I'm sure you're going to do great!

I think women tend to be more ogleable across a spectrum of ages.
Thanks Brandy! Apparently, we gotta get the green ones! I will trade you one of my legs for a pinch of your speed.

Trust me, I've ogled them all...the 25-35s seem to be my favorites right now, but that's not to say there aren't any younger or older ones. For sure.
