Hey there. It's the anniversary date of the run where I had to stop after around 2.5 miles because my ankle would hurt some. That was probably the initial fracturing of the tibia.

So I guess it's maybe appropriate that today is a rest day on the schedule and I feel ready for it. Yesterday was probably the most training I've ever done in total, 6 miles running in 58:35, 77 pull ups, and 300 push ups. That's one of those days that after you finish it you end up thinking it's weird how much progress has happened.

That's a nice day of workouts, Scratch! While you did the most training you've ever done yesterday, I tied my record for the least I've ever done (i.e. zero). Yesterday was an off day. Today will be an easy couple of miles. I might do them on the TM at the Y, and maybe I'll be inspired to throw in a brief lifting routine in as well. Then tomorrow will be a long run of 17 or so.

As I talked about yesterday, I will now try to decide if I can work either Madison or San Diego in as my third marathon of 2008. I think Maggie is really starting to think there's something wrong with me...

Good morning Bob, Scratch, and those who follow!

Just got back froma 2 mile walk/run with my neighbor. She had started running last spring, hurt herself, and needed some encouragement getting back into it. So we'll have some more 5:30 walk/run dates coming up!

I do have a 10 miler on the schedule for today, some upper body work, and a soccer game tonight.

Hey everybody.

I will be running today at some point. I'm supposed to do 5.5 but I might go for a couple additional miles to make up for some I didn't get in earlier this week.

I'm working from home today and already logged on, plus we'll get an early closing so I'm thinking getting in the extra miles will be easy (as long as my legs cooperate).

morning!

6 yesterday. I'll probably do some weights and floor work today...

Hey all. A short, fall back day of 2 miles. Gotta go do it now. Part of me wants to go back to bed and sleep for an hour but I must press on.

Morning. 5.5 total on the Tm yesterday. Knees and ankle feel great! Woohoo!

May or may not get more in tonight. Fridays are typically rest days, but Radioyada and I plan on kayaking tomorrow, and I have no idea how I'm gonna feel about running after sitting in a cold kayak for a few hours!

We shall see.... if the boss lets us go home early today, I'm pretty sure I'll get a run in!

Morning! I'm off to work, where I'll eat breakfast and then vanish to the gym for a run. Planning on either 9 or 12 today. No fun on the TM, but at least I can zone out in front of the TV. Yesterday's interval run was great, but I'm looking forward to nice and easy today. Whichever distance I don't do today is on tap for tomorrow, blessedly outside.

hello!

Only activity today is likely to be walking in the form of shopping. I'll get in a run tomorrow a.m. though.

'morning All,

Easy 10 miles is the plan today...that wiill happen in an hour or so.

Did you guys see the bicycle crash from a track in Australia they showed on the news this morning? OUCH, this is why I'm still so timid on my bike and way too afraid to even consider riding with a group. It hard to believe nobody was hurt, or so they say.

Hey all.

I'm just finishing up a week off from running.

It was a combination of fighting a cold/flu and wanting to give my legs a rest. They feel great now. Tomorrow I'm joining a group run with a new running store which opened near my home.

eccabex - Good for you helping out your friend\neighbor

Ailarie - glad to hear that the ankle is holding up.

LL - was wondering how you were feeling. With the mess over at CR, it was hard to keep track of who was doing what. Get healthy!

No run for me today. Had 3 on the sched that I was thinking of skipping anyway. I am fighting a cold, and my 'easy' 5 M yesterday kicked the shite out of me. Then I got a few work calls, and I ended up with no time for a run. May try and get the 3 in pover the weekend, along with my 11 M long run for the week.

got a couple sleazy today.
3 tomorrow with hanker.
think pf is making me a afternoon runner. that the solstice. its a c.o.n. spiracy.

also...caught your post about the turd yesterday DIVA... good grief... that's why i don't talk to strangers. although...in my world-telling a woman her ass looks big is a compliment...

No running for me today. Cross training is on the schedule but I think I'll be skipping it so that I can visit with an old friend who is in from out of town. This weekend I have 4 and 9 to run.

Good running to you all!

So nice out there this morning! About 50 degrees, morning after an all night rain, just enough mist falling to make you turn on your windshield wipers on slow.

Morning! Last day of work till Jan 2 - hip, hip, frigging HOORAY! There is NO ONE here and I expect to see no one here at all. I'm taking a short day as well so I can start getting some gear ready for the run tomorrow. I'm actually not feeling all that great - been fighting off a mini-cold the last few days and had a bad night of sleep (stayed up late to get the Steelers' result since I couldn't watch the game - damn NFL Network! - then my daughter's haunted CD player went off at 2am and I had to go downstairs to turn that off while being convinced a burglar set it off as a distraction, and then PacerWife got up for her Boot Camp class at 4:45am!). I'm going to do an easy run at lunch today to loosen up - maybe 4-5 miles max, very sleazy.

Good to hear of everyone's progress - Maples and Scratch plus everyone else.

Morning Gang -

Ended up drinking beers last night, which I did intentionally so that I could bag my plan to get up at 5:00 and run. Felt a little bad about it when I woke up today. But then as I was blowdrying my hair I was flipping through an issue of Runners World from a couple months back and came across the article on overtraining. After reading it I realized I probably do need a break - I haven't taken a rest day in awhile and I'm not really even training for my HM yet. SO - I quickly got over the guilty feeling about drinking too many beers (and eating too many cookies - I literally ate 7 Christmas cookies with my beers ).

All that said, I probably will do some type of exercise today - but something easy and it will be on my lunch hour.

Good runs to all!
