Ugh - been battling crappy sleep for the past week since we are trying to get my RLS meds straightened out. Was having augmentation with the one I have been on since 2006...come to find out that med isn't used for RLS anymore due to that. So I am on med #2 with little success. I am exhausted and have brain fog. The weather isn't helping. Hoping this starts working soon (as in tonight!). getting 4 ish hours a night is not cutting it.

Too HHH today, so pushing short short run to around 4 to get something in. did manage an upper body weight workout yesterday and a short run on Monday.

DD grad party is this weekend, need to start cleaning for that.

Yo - it never rains, it pours right? Ouch on the price tag to get everything updated/fixed!

Geo - nice rides!

Well I did little today but unpack my bags, clean up and catch up from some days spent backpacking the the Gros Vents. I think I've found my shoe for the summer but my backpack partner continues to have knee issues. So the next trip we now wonder if it should be a drop pack with the outfitter's mules or something different. In the meantime a few SAR missions and training also popped up. So its the busy summer season.

It was in the teens overnight in the Gros Vents and many bushes (and the moose) are acting as if it were already fall. The days are hot and hazy with wildfire smoke though. I got home in time for a landspout to hit our area breaking some of my front porch railing and rearranging my neighbor's bbq and furniture and my wood pile (I think that's how the rial got broken). Exciting times! I'm neglecting my bike and my kayak. I guess I'll get back to it quickly.

Tomorrow will be a day of errands and high angle training and paperwork I'll try to get some strength training in.

I've signed up for a few winter x-c ski events now the Boulder Mtn tour in Idaho and Teton Ridge Classic (also in Idaho) as well as agreeing to the Santa Fe Century 2026 gravel ride although registration isn't open yet we have made plans. Its with a friend who I was supposed to visit in Japan but she ended up back in the USA across the country from me. So if anyone has a good ride or two to suggest I'm interested in finding a few more either road or gravel events we can meet at.

Zoj - sorry to hear the sleeping issue… meds are necessary evil. I hope you find a good dosage that works for you.

SB - in teens?!??!?! Sounds like some exciting events ahead!

Stuck at the house while water heater and Ac brung installed. Colleague’s 62yo hubby passed away after finding about his illness, just in 7 wks. That’s insane and crazily scary.

Hit the 50m pool with a friend. Thunder came right after I got 2200m in. Boy 50m pool is so much harder. FIB a dinner with her/her partner. They decided to retire after owning their upholstery biz for 33yrs, 33yrs!! I can’t even imagine how hard the decision must have been but they are like, no not at all. As their shop is like 3miles away, I would be very sad not to see them often…

Hope med 2 eventually helps with the leg issues. I can't imagine surviving on 4 hours a night. Agreed that the weather doesn't help - don't know about you, but my house gets hot. So hard to sleep when it's hot. And congrats to DD! Party at the lake?

SB - SAR for lost hikers? Or just training? And in the teens already? No wonder they think it's fall. I'm almost ready for those temps, but not quite yet.

After 33 years, they're probably ready to do something fun! I can imagine they're ready to travel a bit. That was quick on the repairs!

Got on the gravel bike for commuting today. Was NOT about to change the flats last night in the heat (wouldn't be good for my blood pressure!). 16 miles in at a reasonable mid-17s. A HHH 20+ journey home, at an easier low 16s.

Sorry to hear about the tough sleep and meds struggle. That’s rough! Hope the new med helps soon so you can rest better. Good job getting some workouts in despite it all. Hang in there, and good luck with the party prep!
