Nope. I'm a few pounds away from any shot at a non-disappointing performance (though last weeks successful fast-finish MP run was encouraging). I have put Pfitzinger's scheduled tune-up races on my calendar (3/8 and 3/22), but I can find nothing appropriate on those dates anywhere near NH. I'll have to be flexible, I guess. Anything is better than a solo time trial.

hehehe we wont hold it against you either Timr... actually my dh's brother went to bama so they are from a house divided .

I am having a sucky week... with the rain and just plain ol leg twinges and tweaks making me hop on bike trainer instead of running

Lived in Oregon from summer of 2002 until summer of 2006. My wife, phdatc on here, got her PhD at the U of O. We lived one year in Albany and 3 in Eugene.

Miss it every freakin' day.

Hi - I popped into this thread last week sometime, but haven't really been participating, even though I do read this thread. I'm training for my first marathon (Eugene on 5/4) but am no where near where it appears most of you are. I'm merely wanting to complete a marathon, but am not shooting for a goal time really. well, I have a secret goal time, but if I don't make it, I don't care as it's just more important for me to say I finished it and enjoy the experience, so that hopefully I'll want to do another one someday. I'm running an inaugural HM about 20 miles from my home tomorrow as it coincided nicely with my scheduled 14 mile long run. And for only $15 for a HM - how can I say no? especially when it's supporting the running club I belong to. I'm following Higdon's Novice II plan - sort of. Since I work FT and having a family, I usually have to switch my runs around a bit from how the schedule is laid out, but I do stick to the scheduled long runs each weekend - just sometimes change up the weekday runs a bit, but am almost always a mile or two within what the total weekly mileage is.

btw: NW Runner - I'm down in GP - so not too far from you. Any chance you'd be coming down for Pear Blossom in April? That's always a fun race down here. I plan on turning that race (10 mile race) into my 20 mile long run, so I'll run it twice.

I'm not sure if i'm doing Pear Blossom or not. I have a coach who only gives me one month at a time for my training so I have no idea if that will fit into my schedule. Furthermore, I may be on call that weekend. I have a 15k time trial scheduled for March 15th which I will probably do with a cyclist pacing me.

I might be running the Eugene Marathon as well. It's two weeks after Boston so I will be a back of the packer for that one. We'll make sure we meet at some point in time!

And for all you missing the northwest, I just got back from a day up at Mt. Bachelor skiing- no wind, a nice 25 degree day with patches of sun, about 1/2 inch of fresh powder overnight! And great running out there too!
