It's harder for you since your girls are Girl Scouts? I've stayed away from Walgreens and Walmart. Those little girls are just hard to say no to. Gotta buy something. Then, of course, you gotta eat 'em.

What is this I hear you are coming to Nicole's house? Yay! You will LOVE her.

Yes, DD#1 saw the card first and she LOVES it! She can't wait to show her friends at school tomorrow.

DD#2 decided that daddy is going to drill a hole in it so she can wear it like a necklace...lol.

HOLD THE PHONE!!! DH won't let me travel until I am running marathons. I've got at least another year. Of course, if he gets a free SW Airlines round-trip ticket, I'm there. Right now the only one he had was given to my mom so she could come visit for Mother's Day.

Hi FER! How was your weekend?

My 7 went pretty well this weeken. It's amazing how comfortable I am with that mileage now...I remember when I was so nervous about my first LSD of 6 miles during my HM training. Now I just have to gear up for the big miles...next Saturday is 12 and 20 is not that far away! EEK!

Today is a running rest day and I'm home with the kiddos so I don't think I'll make it to the gym. They are both still coughing and I don't want to expose them to any more germs!

Chosha - I started with Jeff Galloway's "Just to finish" marathon training schedule. I just gave my book to Ty yesterday.

I firmly believe I wouldn't be where I am now if it weren't for Jeff Galloway. The first 6 months to a year of running is the most crucial because your body has to adjust to all the new demands that we put on it. It takes awhile for our bones, ligaments, muscles, and heart to get use to running.

Jeff Galloway suggests taking walking breaks.

After about 6 - 9 months of following Jeff Galloway, I switched to Hal Higdon. I also highly recommend Hal Higdon because his schedules are not "crazy" yet can still prepare you for your goal race. You can still have a life and a full-time job, and still follow his schedules.

Afterwards, I used Pete Pfitzinger. He is crazy, but I was ready for more miles (only because I was very cautious the first 17 months of my running).

I am holding my phone waiting for you to call me and tell me you are coming in May!!! There is a 5K if you aren't ready for a 1/2M!! You can tell DH that you are not traveling for running, you are traveling so that your DD can meet my DD and there just HAPPENS to be a run in there!!

That's exactly what I wanted to know. I'm 'shopping' for a program to do over the summer after I run the 10K in Apr which should allow me to be able to finish a 1/2M by the end of Oct or beginning of Nov. What is the name of the book? Is it on his website?

LOL!!! May is never a good time to travel for us. $$$ is always at issue. When mother comes for a visit, we spend a lot of it!

Oh CHO I hope that you will be able to travel sometime to race with us. I, and many other RMs are dying to meet you and we would love to race with you and party with you.

If you are asking about Jeff Galloway, the book I had was called, "Marathon: You Can Do It."

He also has a book called, "Half-Marathon: You Can Do It." I'm assuming this book would be good too, because I loved his marathon book.

Yay! You will have 6 months to train after your 10K. I'm so excited for you!!!!!!
