Am I a total freak of nature or does anyone else's nose run while cycling like a freaking faucet when it's windy? Or even when it's not that windy?

It is so gross and I go through tons of kleenex. I have previously stood my ground that I will never snot-rocket, but I am considering changing my position on that issue.

Please tell me I am normal. At least in this way! LOL

I can't believe anyone could be a triathlete without snot-rocketing. Even with frequent rockets, my bike gloves still get awfully crusty after 3 or 4 rides. When they're too scratchy to wipe my nose anymore, it's time to wash them.

Launch them. We all do. Just a fact of life.

I taught my wife how to blow her nose while running (she was a sprinter, they don't know much about life outside) when we were dating. It was held us in good stead for many years, sort of a bond.

I launched several on my ride this afternoon. I'm usually pretty good at it but I might need to work on my technique. Today when I got back, my wife wanted to know what was all over the side of my wraparound sunglasses. I'm not quite sure how that happened but it sure was nasty.

You mean I shouldn't do it wearing a suit, walking down the streets of Chicago? I mean I've only done it a FEW times...

LOL, I did it once while walking my dog with someone. She looked at me horrified.

Once you start it becomes a habit.

Well, I am not a triathlete yet, so I guess that's why I have been in the dark all these years.

I am a marathon runner, and this DOES NOT happen to me while running.

Extra snot is just one of those things about running when the temps start to drop. But I consider my daily workout a chance to really clear the sinuses. After a mile or so of the heavy breathing everything gets worked loosed up there and comes out so much easier.
