OK, so it's cold here. I look at the thermometer this morning and it says 27 degrees. Yipes! And poor Sox was outside all night!

So, to run to work I put on my compression shirt (it's for baseball, but hey, it works for me), LS T-shirt, jacket....3 layers; are you counting?...

plus running tights and sweatpants over that, warm socks, Sporthill mittens, and Smartwool headband. Tada!

Within .5 mile I was tugging stuff off and stuffing it in my backpack.

KS, Hartford was great -- I thought the course was so easy -- crowd was the perfect size, fall colors scenery just wonderful, and support was super. This year they had trouble with confusing marathoners & half marathoners, I think (and poor PBJ got caught up in that). But I bet you they won't screw up that way again.

Portland is also great! What can I say -- it's my hometown! The view from the St. John's bridge can make a Portland Rose cry. Well, the St. John's bridge can make you cry without the view, if you went out too fast, heh heh. I have talked to person after person who has found the Portland course a little hard. There are some hills, but they aren't anything major, so I can't figure out why others have been disappointed in their times. We had a little wind on an out-&-back portion this year; that was kinda tough. I thought it was crowded, too, and this sort of drains me (the weaving around people), but it wouldn't be a factor for you, given your placement in the pack. I won't be running Portland this year, but will be at the party, of course. heh.

I am thinking hard about Detroit, but I have the first of several fall conferences that same weekend in South Carolina.
