Oh my.... looks like starvation rations...!

Opie, I wish... Temps were zero at the start to -2 or so at the low spot. I ran 16.4 miles outside, then my knight in a shiny green pickup showed up and asked if I wanted a ride. I was tired of dealing with the traffic and snow so said "Yes indeed!" Then came home and stripped down, had a glass of water, donned shorts and running bra and did 2.6 miles on the treadmill for a total of 19. I could've done another, making it an even 20, but didn't have the time. Oh well, that's cool and now I feel fine. Last long run before Carlsbad.

Congrats FF! And thanks for sharing that sweet pic!

YAY Lab on the running! Hope it continues for you without incident.

I ran 9 miles on the TM this afternoon. A nice but mundane run . . . after about mile 5 or so. Had to play mind games to make the time pass.

thanks for the update on your FIL, John. After you left this afternoon, I realized I hadn't asked about him lately and how things were going.

We have quite a bit of snowing falling now and it's sticking. Tomorrow is supposed to be first day back to school for my son, after his 2 wks off. He is excited about the snow, but NOT excited about the possibility of no school tomorrow. And I really need to work tomorrow as well, but depending on the amount we get, it might be a snow day for me too . . . .

E-Good job, you Maniac. You just ran a marathon, didn't you? Paul's a new Maniac, newer than you, and he's already plotting and planning for another star. Today's my 1-year Maniac birthday.

Cashmason, did you run the OC today? Is everything under water there?

Congratulations Grandma. I think you will be terrific in your new role.
He is an angel.

Mc...are you really doing this no carb thing or just kidding us?

Congrats on the new addition FF, cute picture.

I got in 5 miles on the treadmill today, that's the longest I've run in about a month. I had a couple of really crappy days at work and had to work long on Saturday which is when I was planning to run long outside. DW gets an infusion at home every Sunday so I went on the treadmill so I could stay close...I really needed the stress relief of a good run. The run was very good for inside...watched a playoff game!

Back from ski trip and am overwhelmed by post volume over the last few days. Will have to settle for skimming. We were socked in by the Big Storm for two days and it got pretty squirrely after 48 hours with two families crammed into a 2BR apartment. I eventually busted out, walked down to the Nordic lodge in the gale, and was handed a pair of snowshoes by a sympathetic assistant. I stomped around for about an hour and felt much more betterer.

The next day was fine (over 4' of new snow from the storm) and I skiied the alpine with the kids and then spent two hours trekking to the car, digging it out, and then trekking back.

Today dawned clear as a bell. I had views of Mt Washington, Mt Albert Edward, Denman and Hornby Islands, and the Sunshine Coast over the water. It was beyootiful. I went back down to the Nordic lodge, obtained XC skis, and put in 18k in two hours and a smidge. I only crashed once, negotiating a downhill hairpin turn. Am delighted.

Must start negotiating more Nordic time with the kids when we head up there.

Sally, I thought today would be a goodie. Dang wind! I like Nordic too (I don't take up a lotta room, nudge-nudge).

mc, baked sweet potato has twice the daily requirement of Vit. A. Carrots and spinach good sources too. (Helps regulate immune system.)

Congrats to FF! Donovan is adorable. My grandbaby Loghan is turning 1 year old later this month.
