Bad news...I'm on injured reserve due to a bad cold. I'm trying hard to get myself better but this thing just seems determined to run its course. I barely slept last night due to chills.

Sorry for not pulling my weight but I will make it up next week. Hopefully I will be able to get something going again by Sunday. Then I can stop feeling nasty and start training nasty.

Aw, thanks, JohnnyB!

Just get yourself better. While I know we're all competitive, this is all in good fun. So don't damage yourself worse.

Dude! totally.

ksrnr- do you live in KS now? I'm a KS girl at heart (I live in CO now).

wyrillco - I was born and raised in Wichita and lived in Parsons for 5 years. Now am in C.C., TX. KS will always be home. I have family in Ft. Collins area but haven't been there in years. What about you?

ksrunr - I have a client in Kansas - does that count?

So, Generalissimo GB, how we doing on points?! This is my first time down the yellow brick road here - not sure how we see our progress against the other teams...

Oh yeah - kicking ass here in the cornfields - posted 60 points today! Scheduled for 14 miles tomorrow and 20 on Sunday - got a reputation to build you know!

Kestrou - anything to do with ks is good. last round they put up a leaderboard of teams and individuals after it had been running a short while. The closer to the end the more they updated. I haven't checked. Has our entire team checked in?
I'm also new to VRAA and was just wondering the same thing. Guess we'll find out tomorrow??

CMJHawk, what Voodoo said. Get better first, then come back. The rest of us will just have to do some extra to make up for it if we can. I can certainly walk the days I'm supposed to rest from running and do more core exercise, etc. Snowshoeing is a good alternative exercise for me too, until the rain next week...

Well done, kestrou! I don't know how we're doing compared to other teams without noting all the scores they have been reporting. I don't really have the time to do that (which is why we have captains to help record the scores, it's too much for one person if that person also wants to have a life...). Last round it was easy to tell because of the reporting format the captains used, but this round we're trying some new stuff which isn't quite ready for primetime so we're doing it the old fashioned way.

However, Roots is quite good at posting standings regularly and I believe the first post of standings will be Sunday or Monday, since I think Roots is traveling this weekend. I could be mistaken about that. Never fear, we'll know where we stand soon. But if you're feeling a little uptight about where we might stand you can go work off that nervous energy with a bout of running or walking or something....

I'm enjoying your enthusiasm and y'all are starting with a bang!

GO Team Nastay!

Ah, another note, if you're having a rest day, please put it in the reporting thread so I can put a "0" in the list and not wonder if I should wait for some data. If you're taking a trip or will be out of touch, post as soon as you have the time.

CMJHawk's rest day reported here is fine, too. If you want you can PM me with that info, but I'm trying to not have too many PMs. You could also email me with the info. I'll give my email address (if it isn't in my profile, I can't remember) to any of you who asks.

I grew up in a tiny town in north central KS (Kensington), went to school at Washburn in Topeka, and partied my ass off in Manhattan during college. I must admit I'm a wildcat fan!

My whole family is still in KS. My little brother is actually in Wichita, which we thought was a great place to live. If we ever decide to leave Colorado and move back home-ish, Wichita would be on the short list.

I think everyone has checked in yet 'cept for ccraces. Any news????

I don't know ccraces - but just got back from my race - 14 miles plus "race bonus" - 61 pointeroos!

Hope I'm rested enough for my 20 miler scheduled tomorrow...

Don't listen to the mole!!

Great job, kestrou!

I'll be taking the next two weeks off because Kestrou is apparently an ultra lithium badass and is going to score enough points for our entire team. Damn boyeeeeeeeeeeeee~!

Just kiddin' 23 points for Team N.

Rock it kids

Stuff it, Tag.

I would like Antag to know how much I appreciate his concern for my long term health and fitness.

Almost brings a tear to my eye...

P.S. - Starting that 20-miler in about an hour, but taking tomorrow (Monday) off.

Don't ease up! CCRaces hasn't checked in at all yet, and is signed up as a Mega Super Bad Ass. Supposed to contribute 200 points or more per week, I think I'll do more today just in case...

Team Nasty - I won o.a. vraa last time. currently tapering for Disney next Sunday. Rest assured I will ramp up big time after Disney is over. I was running 55-80 mpw getting ready for the race. We had two members last race who really didn't participate and we almost won anyway. The winning team had a member die from heart attack very early in the contest. so it can be done.
