Okay so today was AWESOME.

I especially loved watching the boy who was about five running full speed from his house, down a steep 500 yard hill, yelling SANTA at the top of his lungs when he saw Santa get out of the truck.

A great day. We made at least two dozen stops in the various neighborhoods around here.

Here are a few photos I took.

At one of the early stops - people were coming out in their PJs, no shoes, it was 30 degrees.

My fire company sponsor Al played Santa.

Bob-Cam shot on the truck.

In front of the truck (another Bob-Cam shot.)

Of course we had to make a private stop at my house.

With DD3.

Same neighborhood my FIL grew up in, to name a weird-but-true coincidence.

BigG, I'm so sorry. It totally sucks when people use the children as pawns...spoken by someone who was used as a pawn during an acrimonious divorce. Your kids are lucky that you've got your head on right (although they may not be treating you that way). Chin up, my friend.

Ya got the sideburns going, eh LL?

Maples, about all I know about WoW is what I saw on South Park. That was a damn funny episode.

i'm making 'tato soup, beer bread and a pbcup cheese cake. which i have on good authority are good for that 'feed a cold' thing.
i'd send some over to ya if you were a couple states closer. my partner and i will be watching something similar on our couch with Hank dog and my electric blanket- we will all send get better vibes.

in other news....Hanks foster family sent a picture of him from last Christmas with Santa. i love them.

the storm got here FIVE hours early. 2 accidents on my road alone. grf.

Mandy, I promise, the fish-icide was an accident!

BigG - uber-big hugs your way. To you and your kids.

LLElfBerg - nice doings! I see DD3 has gotten over her dislike of Santa? (If I recall correctly from other photo ops...) My dad still has the best Santa beard, I say!

I will be all alone at home, making my own comfort food and finding my own entertainment... - anyone want to send me pbcup cheese cake vibes? Unless I get off my ass and make those cookies I was going on about...!

Blech. Wish the storm would come and go already...

I lied I did shop... it was a cluster...

DW dropped her Oral B electric toothbrush this morning... it was a money shot... bounced twice off of the countertop, and landed right in the toilet. Sooo in the trash it went... I told her I'd run out and get a new one while she and her friend made cookies and stuff.

I was also given some other tasks... and I remembered that if I donate a toy valued at $5 or more, I get a $20 GC at the tattoo shop - part of their "Toys for Tats" program.

I managed to also take Jaeger to the dog park where he really enjoyed running for a while with a lab mix. I also took him out for 7.5 in our neighborhood.

Morning everyone. Sorry for the long absence from the forums. I have a really spotty internet connection and I spent all of the last week holiday shopping.

(((((Big Gahoona)))))

LL - great pictures.

QOW - Nope I finished it this past week. I have to wrap the presents today though. I am not looking forward to that part.

Maria, DS is sitting on my lap while I read here. He saw your avatar and said, "Mommy, look at that one. He's ker-AY-zee."

LL our fire department came by two nights ago showing Santa the town! DS was soooo excited. It's really cool that you guys (volunteer fire fighters) find the time to do that in addition to firefighting - I know it puts smiles on MANY kids faces.

We almost missed it (they didn't print the full schedule in the local paper) - thankfully they were blasting the siren periodically, we heard it down the street, grabbed DS and his jacket, and ran out of the house. I was in my running clothes (just getting ready to head out) - it was great! One of my favorite things this time of year!

LMAO - my daughter picked up on Tan Stewie right away too. And proceeded to tell me about the entire episode. Family Guy is her favorite show. I think the prostate exam episode is her current favorite.

A wise friend told me to quit internalizing and talk more when things are bad, so I did and dammit if I don't feel 100 times better. THANK YOU for all the good vibes and messages. You guys made me verklempt more than once today. I feel very lucky to have friends like you. <sniff> verklempt again.

I'm sitting down to my very first Fat Tire!! Me likey very much! I also picked up a Young's Double Chocolate Stout, that I have on good authority is a good choice. I also got a bottle of this Ommegang, which I understand is "the" beer to spill.

And no, I'm not going to drink it all this evening. I gots Yoga at 7:30 tomorrow a.m.! (Although, I must say, the Fat Tire is going fast.)

(((((((30's Friends)))))))))

That's how it happened most of the time today.

We put out signs around the various neighborhood's marking specific Santa stop locations. Even so people came running when they heard the siren and we made many unplanned stops as well.
