Hi Sooze, and welcome!

Sorry to hear about your injury, but glad to hear that you're not discouraged and you're looking forward to more running in your future!

Oh yeah, and the beer:

Ah, yes. Now THAT will help the injury. Mmm. Beeeeerrrr...

Thanks for the warm welcome! Really, it's just what I needed... because I actually have been feeling a little discouraged. I mean, I know a lot of people make a full recovery from a sfx and go on to be happy, pain-free runners - but I'm really disappointed because I felt like I was just starting to get into my rhythm and then BOOM, here I am on my ass with my leg up on ice. I even had it suggested to me - by a professed running-hater - that perhaps this was "nature's way" of telling me I shouldn't be a runner.

So, as you can see, I really need to be among my own kind right now! Thanks so much - I already feel better.

I thought Sooze was Snooze!

hi everyone,
just wanted to introduce myself - I've been running for a few months, although certainly not very fast or far. I'm planning to do my first 5k next Saturday, but it will involve waking up at 6 am, so we'll see how that goes Anyway, you all seem like a friendly bunch, and I really need some extra motivation, so maybe you guys can help inspire me to get myself out of bed next weekend!

Hey cidersock!

Welcome to kickrunners.com!

Good luck on your first 5k race! Be sure to check out the Finish Line for Race Reports and a place to actually post about your daily run. You'll find plenty of motivating words and encouragement there!

Make yourself at home and relax - your among friends!

Best,

Hi all,
I'm new to running. Started about a month ago and am really bad at it. Using a heart monitor to time my run/walk intervals. Given my current progress, I probably should be using a pacemaker instead.

Thanks! BTW, you'll find more people in the Post Race Tent and Running Clubs area of the site if you haven't already been perusing the area.

Hello,
I'm from Charleston WV USA. I recently restarted running and am loving it. I'm running about 20 MPW. I recently lost just over 30 lbs. and I'm hoping the loss of the next 30 will help me run a sub 2:30:00 1/2 mary. I hope to do that in late April. Everyone seems very very nice here and I look forward to getting to know everyone.

If you are training for 1/2, there is a group in the training plan forum that are following the 1/2 training program here. You might check it out and see if you want to join them for some fun and support!
