KenA, way to get back into the running frame of mind after a heavy work week.

I wish everyone would stop coddling weather weenies mc and ksrunr. I'm currently in the ark with Mr. Easter Bunny. I had some choice words in response to their posts, but unlike one of the above-named, I am not a potty mouth and will keep my comments to myself. You saw the snow we had yesterday and it was 21F? Today we have heavy rain (60-80cm) and wind warnings (60-80kph) and it's 54F. Melting ... melting ...

Pool running - strong effort - 1 hour
Walk/run - 2.54 miles (on a TM ... ugh)
1/2 hour PT exercises

New shoes and new swimsuit had me looking like a spendthrift, so to assuage those feelings, I paid for them using Opie and Pie Jones' credit cards, thinking they're rolling in dough and don't check their statements. Besides, tomwhite's was maxed out.

I'm going Cold Turkey on the smilies this week. There was a time I frowned upon receiving email with those things, and having reviewed the Weekly, it's a retina-burning smiley nightmare; therefore, I need to re-learn how to express myself without them (furrowed brow).

Have a great running/Xtraining week!

It's actually, like, warm over here. Most bizarre - 54F and raining. We don't have the snow pack that SS got further north. Sans, send Mr S up onto your roof to shovel it off. 12" of wet snow is more than most roofs can bear with grace.*

I must now inflict upon you the most beautiful cup of coffee I have ever poured. I may just quit trying and move on to drinking tea, now.

Tonight: 2000m swimming and then yoga. Nothing much else to report.

*I know, I know. Get Grace off the roof already.

I think it's a good thing SS has a new swim suit, and is going cold turkey on smilies. I just really hope with all my might that she is not having 60-80 cm of rain. Please let that be millimeters!

KenA - I vote for option 2. You can build-up to a nice weekly mileage (25 -30 mpw) by just running four days a week. IMO, rest days are as important as running days, especially as we age.

MS, that's a bee-you-tee-ful cup of coffee. How'd you do that?

Here's one you might enjoy (no, I didn't pour it, I just like the pic):

Labduck, having my typos and numerical boo-boos repeatedly brought to my attention (oh, and everybody else's) is almost as irritating as enduring Michael Bolton Christmas Carols at the pool. (I tried to drown myself to be released from the audio agony, but the durn flotation belt kept me bobbing up to the water's surface.)

Nice pour, Baristang. (dancing coffee bean)

LABDUCK! I get to be one of those faculty members they introduce at a game! Yeehaw! (I won an award today, and am very happy about it.)

ok, whew, back down to earth. Ran & spinned today.

Something in me deeply wants to edit that to "Ran and Span." Dunno why.

run & spun?

Yah, Econo!

...KenA//........the main question is ''What do you want to get from your Running??''

.......I'd vote for ''stay the course''......
.....but I'm running to Stay in Shape,,,

Alright Econo!!! I hope they recognize you at a Pac-10 game.

SS, I only pointed out the rainfall amount 'cause I was deeply (bud pun) concerned about your welfare. Besides, I owed you one for something I mistyped about a month ago that you mocked me for. I forgot what it was, but I'm sure it scarred me for life. :sarcasm smilie:

hey - Lab!! As long as you are hanging out here at the moment . . . I want to bring David to a Ducks game next season at Autzen. He suddenly has this intense passion for college football! How far in advance do you recommend getting tickets for next season if we want to have decent seats? do they give priority to students? any other tips for getting tickets I should know? I've never bought tickets to a Ducks anything before.
thanks.

I'm just running for fitness right now. If I do any races it would be just to keep me motivated to get out there every week. I would use them for a group run and have no desire to be competative, unless it's against myself.

Econo--congrats on the award!!

No run for me - it is icy. I hate slipping and falling!

Perch - if you use your elliptical backwards, what does that do to your monthly total?

MS - you are an arteeeeeeeeeeest

SS - oh yeah and further more but mainly

Econo - happy awards ceremony!

YAY Econo on your accomplishment! What is this award for? or did a miss a reference to it elsewhere?

I like ksrunr's new avatar!

I keep going back to look at Sal's delicioso beverage! That is just a work of art! Is that a special flick of the wrist that does that? sheer talent my dear!

yay! Time to go home!

......excellent answer..........

........the Main Thing------>>enjoy your runs...

(since we're hitting 21-degrees tonite,
I'll add
''or enjoy your cross-training'')
