Okay. after seeing them fine 30s wimmins in there Kick shirts. I think we need some for our meetup. How about red long-sleeve Under Armor shirts with the Kick logo (like the Philly crowd) but the text beneath saying, "KICKin' it Southern Style, Mercedes '07"

Whatdayathink?

Tiff said she could stay through Monday for extra weekend mayhem as well! Our 4 day weekend army grows!!! That's Tim, Bob, Tiff and me. Of course we need to get even more awesome 30s to "come on down and see us" as we say in the South.

I have two friends here in town that both own t-shirt shops. I can possibly work with them to get the t-shirts made if you want. Great idea Flem! Perhaps a small kickrunner logo on the left front pocket area. Then on the back have a bigger kickrunner logo with your saying above and below the logo? Ideas? White writing?

As mentioned before we also need all Birmingham people to bring the baseball cap and or tshirt of their SEC school. I want to take our version of the old "family tradition" picture. Remember the old cartoon painting of the SEC mascots posing together? It's great. If I can ever find one of those prints I will buy it. It's from the 70s or early 80s.

I know Ms Beth isn't a huge Georgia Bulldogs football fan but if you (Beth) can bring a Tshirt with Georgia on it that would do just fine for our group picture.

Heh. I've run all 6 of my marathons in a Gator tech shirt. I reckon I'll do it again in Birmingham, although this'll be the first time I'll wear it in enemy territory...

Okay, I've booked my flights. I'll arrive in B'ham on Friday Feb 8 at 4:35pm and leave Monday Feb 11 at 8:10am. And I'm registered for the marathon. I guess I'll need to register for the 5k, if I want to be like Tim and run both. But I assume that can happen at any time.

Maples, I'd be happy to share a room with you, and I trust your judgement when it comes to picking a hotel. I think it'd make sense if we all try to stay in the same place, and that we book soon. If there's one thing I've learned from my various trips around the country for marathons, it's that hotel rooms tend to book up early...

Bob I have looked a week or so ago and the 5k registration wasn't open. Thanks for the reminder. I'll check again tonight. Here is information on Tim's suggestion on the third option:
- this one is probably the best choice for a number of reasons. First, it's located in a nice part of town and yet is still only 10 mins for the race site. 2nd, it's right in the middle of all the shopping and restaraunts, and 3rd: it's in the parking lot of my office building!!
link to website. The website shows this rate:

https://secure.hilton.com/en/hp/res/...questid=179398

Split that in two I suppose folks. Maybe there is a cheaper rate. I tried my best. That is for arriving Friday and leaving on Monday morning. 3 full nights. I will check online for cheaper rates at other hotels in the area. I'll ask Tim for other suggestions.

Just checked and still no info on 5k registration. Not open yet.

Maybe this will make it easier:

Hoteldiscounts.com does not give a nice clean link. But you can try it yourself:

www.hoteldiscounts.com

hope this helps.

BTW I am so flexible and easy to please. As long as it's in a safe neighborhood, clean, with a lock on the door and at reasonable rate I'm good. Brand names of hotels are irrelevant to me.

Right next to the LSU fan. *sweet smile* Of course I've got the braggin' rights this year! Imagine how much Bamas gonna love me sportin' my LSU gear in their state.

And I'm in to stay through at least Monday. I just requested the vacation time and if I don't get it no big deal because I have Mardi Gras weekend the week before to bargin with people. That's THE holiday in Louisiana so it's a good get me off the days I want tool for swaps.

Ok, one more random unrelated sorta related since we've got an SEC theme goin' on here... I'm so excited to be going to Atlanta next weekend and can't wait to meet Beth!!!

Geaux Tigers! (Not those Auburn ones, mind you)

Me too! You still gotta forward me your specifics (hotel address for instance) so we can plan on where to go! One more week....

Thought registration was open and I had a link. Still not open yet for 5k. Tim do you have any information on when the 5k opens? You can register for the marathon and half already. Just curious.

See the above link to the registration for the 5K @ Mercedes weekend. It's an active.com registration. Remember, not to fall for the free trial membership to active.com or they will charge you down the road.

If you guys don't want to do the active thing, I can probably scan the actual race entry form that I have on my desk and post it or email it to you as a PDF. Then, you can print and mail it in the old fashioned way.

Thank you for the update Tim. I just completed my registration for my first every run

Tim sent me a list of other hotel possibilities in the area. Either tonight or tomorrow I will compare rates and post them here. We probably need to start thinking about reservations. It will be here before you know it.

OH by all means we must be in the same hotel my good man. Although as it stands right now we would only need 2 rooms. Four of us at the hotel while Flem crashes at Tim's. We MUST recruit more 30s to increase the fun!
