Hi gang!

SB!!! Good to "see" you!

This weather blows...though DD and I did go out running in it yesterday...3 miles done for the both of us.
Today - I should have gone out on the road, but just like you the other day Geo, I didn't feel like dealing with it - 30 min on the trainer and bowling tonight.

Have a good one!

Nicer weather on its way to you Zoj! It was very nice even a bit chilly in the evening.

2mile walk during the lunch. Then 2500yds in the pool. Felt good, in spite of some headache, and a bit of bad news (below) ...

Met with neurosurgeon's PA and the neurologist via zooms today. Good news is that the bypass surgery was a success and a nice blood flow is observed. Bad news, which was really news to me but Doc really casually said as a matter of fact-ly, that the bypass on my right side brain is "just a matter of time" for patients like me who has this disease genetically. I asked how soon, he said within a year or two. Yikes. Mild to moderate narrowing of the right supraclinoid internal carotid artery is observed. He even showed me the image from Nov 2024 to compare to the last week's image. It's progressing. He proceeded to say he wouldn't wait for any symptoms (i.e. TIA's like I have had before on my right side)... if the imaging starts showing more narrowing, he would suggest to get the bypass done. Thus he is ordering the imaging every 6 months instead of the original plan of every year.... He also strongly told me not to push yourself to the level of feeling any numbness to your body. I knew this, but being told firmly by Dr is different. For all my life, I pride myself with the grit, perseverance and pushing myself in any physical endeavors. That is no longer available to me, which is a bit painful fact to accept. I may need to re-look at our backpacking plan in Glacier in Sept. I really don't want to alter our plan. I would like to think if i slow down and rest often, I can make it wherever I want to go. I plan on doing some hiking with a real pack once the weather gets eased up, just to see how I feel.... Man, I can't retire (= lose health care) until the second bypass is done :( !!

Nice job getting out there despite the weather! I also bailed on my outdoor run today – did a quick HIIT session instead. How do you like the trainer vs. road running? I always struggle with motivation indoors.
