It was chilly here to begin with, and my office is a meat locker on top of it. So jeans. (I do wear shorts a lot in summer, its just too cold already.)

2) thanks. Work stuff is just boring though.

Can you tell i really dont feel like working today? Im so ready for the weekend. Think tonight I'm going to happy hour with a co-worker, which will be fun. This week rather calls for it. Is it 5 yet?

Which brings me to, boB, i think you ought to have a cocktail.

RIL, thats great about the other kid!!

And i <3 marching band. My nephew plays bass drum in his hs marching band. His hs hosted a marching band festival 2 weeks or so ago. SO fun to watch. What instrument does your daughter play Tim?

She plays bass drum in the drumline. I tried to attach a picture...if I remember how.

WARNING: SHAMELESS BRAG ON MY KID POST AHEAD

Holy crap! Awesome morning here! First of all, my butt is no longer broken. YAY! James wanted to 5k this morning and I was *this close* to running it at goal race pace since I haven't been able to do that for the last 2 weeks. Fortunately reason prevailed and I decided to just watch rather than risk anything. Thank goodness I did. My boy TORE IT UP out there. He ran 17:09, winning the race and setting a course record. His buddy came in second (one of my halfers) in 17:26 and his little bro who is in 5th grade broke 20. I am so glad I got to see that! Woot! That is a 2+ minute PR for James. I told him to relish it as that is not likely to ever happen again (that big of a PR, course record and win). :)
Okay, I'm done now. Off to run my scheduled 30 minutes easy on my NON BROKEN boootay. :)

Go racers go!!!!!! Goon, brandy and Dom at TCM - with Crane Sherpaing - anyone else toeing the line?

I did another 5k race this morning. And I got basically the exact same time I got last Sunday. Within 1 second. I may be slow, but at least I'm consistent.

This was a smaller race (about 100 runners, as opposed to 200 last weekend). My time was only good enough for 12th in my Age Group last week, but it was good for 2nd this week. Too bad they only gave awrads to the top person in each Age Group. Oh well. No hardware. I think I should get used to that...

Nice work bOb - consistency is good.

Great pic of your DD Timr - that looks fun.

I slept in this morning and then ran my last long run. 12 miles (8:57 pace). Felt like I was running faster than that, but nope. 7 days until Chicago!

Drum core is my favorite part of the band. One thing I enjoy about August and my neighborhood is there is a hs football field at the other end of my street. So when I come home from work and take O out for a walk, I can hear the drum core and sometimes the horns sections practicing. :D

RIL your boys are incredible.

GO BOB!

I ran a few with Oskar yesterday. We were on a street perpendicular to River Rd, running towards the river so we could take that back home, when a trio of women ran past. (They were on RIver Rd, going the same way we were headed.) Of course Oskar wanted to catch up to say hi. So we did, and he of course charmed them and smiled and swished his tail as we trotted past. And the ladies were going on about how handsome he is, and what a great pacer he is just running along next to me, and how much fun he looks like he is having, and then after we were past them how effortless I make the pace look.

!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHA! Well, he always has a lot of fun when we go for a run. And I'm not running anywhere fast these days, so we were only running 10m/m, which isn't anything impressive. But still, funny to overhear the comments.

We ran a few more today, and along the golfing range O insisted on saying hi to Scarlet, a golden retriever. (Insisted as in lay down and wouldn't move.) And THAT guy was going on about how well behaved he is, and how elegant he looks when he runs or walks with me. Um, ok. Guess they don't get to see what a dork he is. HAHAHA.

OH! And more fun this weekend. My favorite mansion right around the corner on River Rd is up for sale, and had an estate sale Fri & Sat. I didn't know about it until yesterday, but got to walk through the house from basement to attic. Kept getting lost as I walked through, but I'm glad I finally got to see the inside. Seven bedrooms, 6 baths, lots of gorgeous old woodwork, inlays in the wood floors, main & servant staircases, updated kitchen made for entertaining... Gorgeous house. And seeing what they did or didn't fix made me feel better about the state of my house. (HA!) Anyway, I'm really glad I FINALLY got to see inside it.

Hola! I've skimmed through the thread on my break here. New job = much less goof off time. :p

I hope everyone is totally over their colds and hurty butts! Hi TimR! Bob - I will donate!! katholeenie - noice legs!

Just wanted to share what a great time we had at TCM this weekend. Cranegirl is the best sherpa of all time! Hands down. She got up suuuuper early Saturday morning to get back home from Wisconsin in time for her marathon house guests, one of whom she had to get to the airport to pick up. She took us to the expo and we walked down every aisle of that place. Then she made a fabulous pasta dinner Saturday night, got up BEFORE us Sunday morning and had an amazing runner breakfast buffet laid out. Drove us to within a block of where we needed to be to start and was waiting in the finish area right by Caribou Coffee (mmmcoffeethankyou) with flowers and confetti and then drove us to the Happy Gnome for burgers and beer with Baggs, Brandy, Nettie and the new Mr Nettie! I hope that this weekend didn't take too big a toll on her and that she can spend today resting and relaxing as much as possible. Also, she has two new super cute kitties that we got to play with. :)

Race day was awesome! Seester Goon and I PRed with a 4:27:52. 5 minute PR for me and 10 minute PR for her. I honestly did not think I had that in me. I missed the one and only 20 miler of my training cycle due to a weird Achilles pain that mysteriously showed up on a Sunday and just as mysteriously disappeared the following weekend. I went to the Packer Viking game AT Lambeau Field on Thursday night and I was certain that the low hydration, poor nutrition and sleep deprivation of that night was going to negatively affect me on race day. But no! So yay! Feeling pretty good today, knees are a little achey but other than that, not too bad!

OK, ugh, back to work. This pesky employment thing is taking away from my fun. LOL
