Theia everything makes me ravenous.
 I am convinced I have a tapeworm.

In perhaps similar news, I sure have been acting like a triathlete lately. Yesterday, swim in the am and easy track workout after work. Today, run to the Y to lift in the am, bike after work. Tomorrow, bleacher workout in the am and hopefully a bike ride after the Phillies game if I get back in time to ride with my friends. Now I just need to find a race that doesn't cost a million dollars.

I want you to be the first to know that I've withdrawn from the Olympic distance triathlon in Milwaukee. New goal race is probably going to be the sprint tri at Cedar Point on Sept 6. I'm meeting with coach on Friday to discuss further.

I'm more relieved than disappointed, and I don't need to talk about it, but I'm happy to answer questions if you have any :)

Ron - it was aWeSoMe! First, I can't believe the boys all got up that early to run. DS & DH went with us to start too, but they only did 4 and then DS biked the rest with us. We ran the first 4 really easy (9:20s-9:40s), then picked it up to 8:40s, then finished the last 3 in 8:15, 8:25, 7:55. These guys are going to kick some boooootay in their half in 3 weeks.

Theia - that is really awesome that you are feeling like a triathlete again!

Amy - glad you are relieved, but I'm a little bummed since you were going to be in my neck of the woods!

Theia I probably do too. I guess it is a good thing.

amichel you will crush Cedar Point.

RIL my dd would be an incredible runner if she had that drive. She is happy just doing her own thing. As long as she is happy I suppose.

ok so I haven't been on here in about a month and now I see the site has changed...hopefully I can keep up with it. Haven't posted much...on anything really (here, FB etc) in a bit. My promotion has been kicking my ass and I haven't felt well in a while. Going to the Dr tomorrow but have a feeling they may just refer me elsewhere which is fine...at least it's a starting point. The summer is absolutely flying by and not at all happy about that! Although, it's perpetually summer in CA- so I guess that gripe makes no sense.
Hope everyone is doing well!

You guys are not going to believe this. I just did my bleacher workout, this time with two friends. My running partner that I have run with the past year moved here from Ohio. Because today is the five year anniversary (how is that possible???), I wore my Voo shirt and told my friends the story behind it. My running partner recognized him!! She had seen him at several races in Ohio!!

And the world gets smaller and smaller....

That's very cool Theia.

Good to see you KJ - sorry to hear you aren't feeling well - be sure to take care of yourself.

It is a beautiful morning here. I ran with DH in sunny, 57 degree weather. 6 miles / 8:43.

Hi Cus!! And to all of the rest of the sweat and tears family that might be lurking this week... It's funny, the site said there were 17 people viewing, and I'm not sure if we have 17 regulars anymore!

Theia, that is very cool.

(({((KJ))}))

I got in a fair amount of running in Miami, despite the heat and humidity. It made yesterday's run in 60f, light drizzle seem refreshing.

I'll get out and put in some Voodoo miles this afternoon, then head over to the watch Mary Cain run at the World Juniors.

PacerChris is headed this way soon for the Eugene Marathon where he's pacing the 3:15 group. Hopefully we can get together and toast Joe.

Hi all.

Has it really been 5 years?! Hard to believe. You are missed, big guy.

I just woke up. I have been working a lot this week - close to full time hours and to add on my commute and it's easily sucked away my life. I have today and tomorrow off but work the weekend.

it looks like we have some BAMF weekend warriors last weekend and this coming weekend! go Moonie and Amichel.

Hello to Cus and KJ and any other friends out there.

I am on activity restriction again through this weekend - DH laughed at me bc the night before the restrictions began, I went out in a huge rainstorm in order to get in some last few miles. I know you guys would have done the same. Heh.

What else?

Oh! Sorry Bob about being sidelined but here's hoping you will be good to go in a few weeks!

And bigG, I am so very impressed with your streaking. You are the ultimate BAMF.

Ok. Off to straighten the house which also goes to **** when I work a lot.

KJ and Ron can shut it. :) Your dry heat summer has nothing on our summer - it was 90F yesterday with 95% humidity. I literally looked like a drowned rat after I got out of the subway.

Howdy folks. Even though I have no daily fitness to report, I had to check in today. I've loved seeing the tributes to Joe here on and on FB. He had been on my mind today, and of all things, I had a bit of a huh?! moment today during a trip to Home Depot. It's nothing that would have been out of the ordinary on any other day, but today... wow. I was getting some custom-mix paint, and the guy helping me needed to get his supervisor to double check the data for the ...uh... recipe, I guess. When he called the supervisor (just a few feet over), I nearly dropped my stuff when I heard "Voo? Can you double check this for me"!

Luckily, the guys were looking at the computer monitor, and didn't see my bobble my items or the wide-eyed look of shock on my face. Of course, today's Voo didn't look anything like our Voo... but considering it's the first time I've heard someone outside of our group reference the name Voo... somehow I felt like the big guy was sending me a message of some sort. :)

Hi Cus! Good seeing you whenever you pop by. And good to see you back too KJ

Great seeing all the love for Voo on FB. We did our part just a bit ago - got back from a little run, showered up, and went into town for some burgers and brew. Nice thing is that it's restaurant week here, so some of the proceeds from our purchase go toward the food bank here.

Hard to believe 5 years have passed since his passing - I remember distinctly wandering into SF that weekend to watch the marathon after arriving back from Malaysia a couple days prior and still recovering from an appendectomy wondering what my next course of things should be.

Amy - is that the Rev 3? My friend from the LIT board has done that one (during its inaugural year) and races for them now. They put a good event together from what I hear.

Anyway, gotta get going...have a good night and VTFU everyone

I did my first run/walk in about 3 months yesterday, in my orange "What Would Voo Doo?" tech shirt (fits more snugly than I like but for once I didn't care) and the WWVD rubber bracelet. Moonie took a picture before we headed out, he'll have to post it. We did a loop around a nearby small lake (more like a big pond) that is 1.2 miles and I probably ran about 1/2 of it total.
