I had a Saranac pumpkin ale the other night. First beer I've had in months that didn't bother my stomach.

(I decided to push my luck, and had one today when I met a friend who is in town for a drink this afternoon...a Brooklyn Ale...also, no issues. Interesting.)

Just got home from my friend's housewarming party. Went for tacos before with friends, which were great. Party was fun.

KP, maybe "high school team" is a little harsh. Sorry. But a team in the MAC that went 1-11 last year is obviously not very good. And yeah, if we play like this again, we're gonna lose. Often. We've got plenty of games left against decent (South Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina), good (LSU, Florida State, Georgia) or great (Alabama) competition. So we could start racking up some ugly losses if we can't figure out how to snap the ball. Trust me, I was not celebrating that win...

Are Bard and Moonie seeing each other? Like dating...?

I'm just asking. I've missed a whole bunch over the last 6 to 9 months. Because if they are, I'm right behind them on it. Couldn't happen to two nicer people. I'll send my congratulations and be happy for them. If not, that's ok too. Not as happy ending-ish, but fine by me.

Of course, you realize, that I realize that this is none of my business. I'm just asking, is all.

Yes, indeed they are, and I, too, am very happy for them!

Holy crap am I having a slugerific weekend. Slept on the couch last night because I was too lazy to get up and go to bed. When my alarm when off at 6:15, I got up, turned it off and went back to bed (in bed this time). Was awake for a couple of hours but stayed in bed because, yes, I was too lazy to get up. Just finished lunch and need to do something, so I'm going to walk to Race Central for tomorrow's marathon, pick up my volunteer shirt and walk back. It should be around 6 miles total. Of course, it's now in the mid-70s instead of the low 60s when I got up the first time, but it's breezy so it shouldn't be a bad walk. Thankfully I have be up and running around 5:30 tomorrow or I would sleep the entire weekend away. Oh, and I do have work that I need to accomplish at some point. Oops.

Miami of Ohio: Though he's a douche, Big Ben came from there and a team can't be perennially terrible if they have a first-round draft pick QB who's won two Super Bowls. Even though he's a douche.

Prae, it IS Labor Day...you can have a sluggerific weekend if you want. :)

I sort of had a similar morning, in that I woke up at 7:30ish...read in bed for maybe 15 mins, then fell back to sleep til about 10. but since I got up, I've been pretty busy...totally cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen, dusted (which I don't think I've actually really done since I moved here...oops), ran some errands, and had lunch. I want to hang up the prints I framed a couple of weeks ago tonight (The Guy is coming over, I asked him to bring his electric drill), and I have some stuff to put away to clean out the back bedroom. I'm also planning on making supper for us. Should be nice. :)

I'm just being nitpicky here Prae, but Big Ben didn't graduate from Miami of Ohio...the correct name of our alma mater is Miami University, or Miami (OH). It's a point of contention for most of us alumni. The bookstore used to have a great shirt that said "Miami was a University when Florida still belonged to Spain."

and no worries boB, and I agree, the gators have a long season in front of them.

I think I knew this (because you corrected me before) but messed it up again. Sorry. I'm sensitive (though I guess not enough) to these types of things because I graduated from a women's college, not a girls' school. I'm glad you have pride in your alma mater.

Ok, the walk to the race headquarters was not my brightest idea. The round trip was only 6.5 miles, so it wasn't that bad, but I didn't start until 2:00, it was 80* and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Add to that some of the biggest hills in town between my house and the race site, and I was uncomfortable for much of the way home. Thankfully, there was relatively non-existent humidity and I could fill up my water bottle a couple of times. I'm very thankful that all my exercising will be done before the sun comes up tomorrow.

I did find out that my volunteering gig at the race has been downsized due to technology. I used to record the finishers and their finish time but this year they're using chip timing, so I'm recording bib numbers as they cross the line as a back-up. My one real area of responsibility -- tape the race results on the wall in a timely fashion. Ah, well. We can't all be stars.

Fun:

Heading out to run now, meant to get out earlier but then C texted with an invitation out to breakfast. Would have loved to load up on hashbrowns, eggs and bacon but I had a carbolicious pre run bagel instead. Post run will be a different story.

Loving this Fall weather! But, it's supposed to T-storm most of the day here so I better hit the pavement.

Today is a knitting day, & I just watched an unexpectedly depressing movie. I don't like movies when I'm not prepared for that stuff. I need some light and fluffy!!! Now that I've finally figured out what I need to do to make this sweater work the way I want it's moving along nicely.

Ok then! Alright! Good for them! I think it's a great match! Wooohooo!

congrats to Bard and Moonie!!!!!

Yippee!

Kath - chairs I borrowed from a local club for my brother's wedding reception. It's a smoky place, so I should have expected it. I just didn't think it throgh. Stinky and free is still better than 7.95 each from the party rental place :)

Things are actually coming together well for the reception. No idea if they have the wedding figured out or not. I guess we'll find out at 1:30 tomorrow:)

I need a nap. But, I procrastinated on work, so now I get to read relatively boring stuff all afternoon. Boo!

Didn't you just have a shower last weekend? Or the shower was somewhere else and the reception is at your house? You're not hosting both right? I'm confused.

Um, not fun? *Near* face plant in the street (I was fully laid out in the street, but no traumatic face injury). Cool right? But no skin on the palms of my hands is not so cool. I am too old to be trying jumps off skate board ramps. Just sayin. But it was REALLY REALLY FUN.

After my run, I started working on my much neglected landscaping. Sons and their BFFs decided to help me and afterwards we all rode our bikes to the local pizza place so I could treat them to ice cream. MMMM. Chocolate chip cookie dough. DS wiped out once and we got caught in rain, but it was super fun nonetheless.

BUT, didn't get the article written I should have. Cue: whip crackin.

Also - BigG - awesome on the breakfast date! I LOVE breakfast out. Must have been SO HARD to stick to a bagel. Hard core.
