update....i've been gone for quite awhile

<p>Don't remember the last time I was on here.  Cancer is in my bones and metasticized to my liver again.  Liver lesions went away after starting oral chemo, Xeloda.  Feet and hands dry out and peel...pretty interesting!  Bones are about the same, but now one scan is showing the cancer on my skull and another isn't.  Tomorrow I meet with the oncologist and hopefully will get some answers.  Still trying to walk, but not near as much.  Wearing out...getting old!</p>

<p>Oldest daughter ran her first marathon a few months ago and barely missed qualifying for Boston.  She will start training soon for the San Antonio Rock n Roll Marathon (?) and hopes to qualify.  We told her we'll pay for her ticket there if she does!  So proud of her.  Somehow she manages to get to the gym to crosstrain and runs with her friends while taking care of the three children!  Youngest daughter is battling her weight....she can't run b/c of knee problems....has had three knee surgeries.  Five grandkids now...Reaghan 7, Cannon 4, Taylor 4, Piper 19 mo., & Baylee 8 1/2 mos.  Three granddogs...Boomer, Tango & Cooper.  Now have a dog of my own...Ollie!  He is a year old maltese who is wonderful company and loves to snuggle with his mommy!  Steve gave in and now Ollie sleeps with us!  He loves Steve and gets so excited when he comes home! </p>

<p>Donna, so glad you posted. I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering how you were doing. Hope things go well at the oncologist's visit. If it's any consideration, you might suggest to your daughter to find a less crowded race to do her BQ attempt at? Those Rock-n-Roll marathons are so crowded (and full of slower runners and walkers) and I'd think hard to get a BQ time at.</p>

<p>So good to hear from you Munch.  I too have been wondering about you.   I pray your tests are just as you wish.</p>

<p>San Antonio RnR is one tough (read miserably hot and humid) marathon.  I have many friends who run it or have run it.  Since I live in Corpus Christi I can attest to the conditions.  Other than that it's a pretty well run marathon and the course layout has improved the last couple years.  Good luck to your daughter in her running.</p>

<p>Awesome news today!!  Spots are VERY small and were on my last head scan .... I didn't know it.  She said they are so small they might not even show up on the bone scan.  I'm staying on the same drugs, but will do the Xeloda on two weeks and off one like before.  After my next scans she will decide if we need to do something different.  She said radiating my head is one of the last things she wants to do and maybe the pain will go away since I'm back on my chemo and other drugs.  WooHoo!!  I can now walk or run as much as I want so looks like I'll be getting serious about my training again!!  Have missed you all so much!  Love Ya!</p>

<p>I too look on in wonder at the moms and dads who run marathons.  But look at what an inspiration they (you!) are.</p>

<p>I have a different perspective of the Rock 'n' Roll marathon I ran (Phoenix).  It wasn't San Antonio, but it was very well run and a great (PR) experience.  GL to your daughter.  And to you in getting your training groove on!</p>
