For what its worth this place never got nearly as toxic as the old Cool Running Club House. That place was truly an example of what self moderation results in - meaness, dog piles, insults, racist comments, etc. Expecting people IVL to behave as they do IRL is not reasonable - the monitor and keyboard insulate us too much from the repercussions of our asshattery. I'm a prime example - I'd never say 1/2 the crappy shit I do if this was RL.

We need clear simple rules and consistent enforcement.

1. No racist or sexist comments.
2. No personal attacks.
3. No public posting of PM's or other messages with an expectation of privacy.

Threads or posts that break the rules will be locked or deleted outright. Moderators will explain publicly why it was done.

Members who break the rules will be banned after three offenses. Moderators set the length of the ban and determine if/when the member will be allowed back.

I think these rules suck!

They must have been made by a Canadian. I'm gonna kick his arse!

I once recieved a pm from someone here saying a certain something about sombody else, that most people would be very interested in. Howerver, discretion keeps me from telling everyone else that it was dg1.
