Regarding "banning and moderation" :

We have tried self moderation and it apparently doesn't work. Somehow, the "spirit" of kickrunners has devolved in to the clubhouse. In fact, lately, the PRT is more like the clubhouse than the clubhouse was like the clubhouse at its WORSE.

If you want the clubhouse atmosphere - please leave the site. I'd rather simply close the PRT completely and let the rest of the forums stay intact than have a place where it becomes full of mean spiritedness and junior high school antics.

I find this insulting Rich. Sue has always been supportive of your site, and from what I can recall has never said a bad word about you or the PRT, even if she would proceed differently.

Like the PRT, the CH is made up of a lot of really great, honest, kind people. To broad brush it as toxic is rude. Anyway, I find the CH significantly less dramatic and toxic than the PRT has been recently to be honest. But that is neither here nor there. Things go in phases and I'm sure drama will pop up in the CH like a Whack a Mole some time soon....

Anyway, I'm pissed that you want to push all this drama off as being beneath the PRT and in the process denegrate the CH and its posters. It just fuels the us versus them thing that I find so fucking stupid. You - yes the collective you and you singular- aren't above drama, as much as some of you'd so love to be. So own the drama, Rich. Or, if you can't (or don't want to) handle it...then close the PRT. That's your right. But to assume you can keep it existing in some drama-free bubble is naive at best. And frankly, the humanity of the whole thing was educational and real. Which I'd much prefer to some sort of super strict moderated politeness. Constrict the boundaries too tight and people are going to push back and test. Give them room to find their own level and often the community will moderate itself.

Anyway, my annoyance this morning is less to do with what you decide to do here but more to do with your statement above which I saw as knocking down the CH (and by default posters there and Sue) in an attempt to make the PRT seem like something better. And that, to me, is just not on.

Rant over....
