Good morning all. I'm very tired because I didn't sleep well last night. I kept waking up and thinking about work and I couldn't stop; finally I just gave up and got out of bed and have been answering emails.

No runs for me today but I did end up doing some spinning last night and I worked up a good sweat.

As for hydration, I use the Nuun tablets when it's particularly hot & humid and they help me a lot. Mostly I just use lots of cold water, though. I drink 2 cups of coffee every morning but water all the rest of the day. I don't like soda and almost never drink it. I like a good ice-cold beer once in a while, and a nice glass of wine (or 2 or 3!) on rare occasion.

Enjoy your day everyone and run a couple of miles for me.

Susan

No running for me today, having done some 3 days in a row I don't want to overdo it.

23 on the bike was fine this morning although my legs are still suffering from Sunday(DOMS). This is a bugger as I have a bike race this evening!!!!!

Relax and enjoy

Good Morning!

Glad to hear you are making good progress Gobi!

5M, avg 7:53. Glad to hold on to that pace this morning - 72°, 93% humidity and the dew point is 70° at 8:00 in the morning - blah. I don't know how you Texans run in your weather!

Okay, I'm going to vent for a while. Bear with me ...

Well, I'm officially tired of running in South Florida in the summer. Can't it just please ease up a little? Or can't I just move? It's taking all the energy out of me.

This morning the schedule was for 10 miles total with 10 x 1 minutes @ 5K pace (7:20) with 1 minute jog recoveries between each. I got it done but it wasn't pretty.

The first fast bit came in at 12:14 min/mile avg (??? as if ...) with a maximum speed of 107.8 mph (!!! I wish ...). Now if i can just harness that max. speed!

The other more "normal" fast parts came in at:
7:49, 7:55, 7:39, 7:26, 7:32, 7:23, 7:20, 7:29, and 7:24. The pace was all over the place. And these were only 1 minute repeats ...

It might just be the weather which was brutal. 80° and 76% at 4:45 AM. But I've been struggling for a week now. And I am dead tired after this one. I think it may be time to shut it down for awhile till my resting HR tells me it's time to get back out there. I'll see what Coach thinks.

Mill - send those temps to Massachusets. Please!
Sal - I'm glad you're back.

Mid to upper 70's, 93% - just the way I like it. 12M, 1:40:24, 8:22 pace. I decided there's no point in killing myself today, so it was just a nice GA. - In these conditions, I'm using Gatorade, cut with 50% H2O.

Is there an RR from Dale in our future?

Mike
