G'morning folks

Big G - Wahooey, girlfriend!

Pacer - Dude.. zinc supplements. Pronto!

Crazy question for those who have used bag-checks before: In a newsletter from a local running store, they advertised a clinic to help 1st time half marathoners prepare for the upcoming GA ING. One of the topics was going to be "What to pack in your gear check bag"

I thought about it, and it seemed simple to me. (since it will likely be cool) Sweatpants / Sweatshirt. Sports bra. Socks. Shoes. Gloves. Hat. Advil. Chap Stick. Maybe ginger bites for an upset tummy.

Am I overlooking something that should be really obvious?!

sunblock, baby wipes, a couple of $, ID.

Hey all:

Easy hilly 10 last night just under 8 pace. Felt great for the first few, tired for the last few. Plus I was a little underdressed and got pretty cold at the end. Oh well. Short and easy tonight, maybe some hill sprints if I'm feeling chipper.

Duck - thanks for the info. i'm very interested to follow your progress.

Will probably go for 6-8 miles today. It's supposed to be in the 50s! I may wait til after work to run because there'll probably be a ton of people out on the trail then. It's been cold and lonely running out there all winter.

Aw man. That sucks. What chance do the rest of us mere mortals have the The Temple can't even withstand the onslaught of germs?

Hi all - 1300 yd at the pool yesterday basically 300 yd of warmup followed by 2x400 where I just tried to work on certain form things that keep bugging me, and then a 200 yd cooldown. I may not be any faster, but it feels easier anyway.

Another run tonight - I'll probably just do some fartleks or sumptin'

Ugh...get better soon, PC

Nice psych job/run Rand - I've had that conversation myself in less daunting conditions.

Good birthday wishes to your dad, Jen

Alrighty, good runs, workouts and/or rests to you all!

speaking of which, solar, didja get the hair appt or not?!? selfishly, i hope you didn't. i think your hair looks spiffy the way it is

6.4 ez last night on the trails. i'm trying *gulp* to somehow get 18 in today since i'll be in NYC this weekend and don't want to run (all that much).

feel better, chris!!!!!!!

I got out for a late run last night at 10:00pm. It was awesome out there, 47 degrees, slight breeze, 47 degrees, clear skies and a half moon. I had to cut the run a little short and got back to the house after 4 miles.

Feel better, PC! What would be really useful right now is a smiley dueling sick germs.

I haven't been sick this winter either Maureen....*****knock on wood, knock on forehead, knock on wood again*****

Rand - my morning conversations go more like this:

RS: Get u....

LS: *snore*

RS: *snore*

3 last night on the TM at the hotel - + 3 miles walking to and from the restaurant of choice. (Including a detour to pick up a Voodoo Doughnut!)

Sorry, Pacer. When was the list time you missed two days in a row?

Okay, I've made all my reservations for St Louis. I booked the plane tickets with Frequent Flier miles, so all it cost me was $10 in fees. Then I got a hotel room with Priceline. I've used it before and have always been happy with it. I got a room at the four-star Renaissance St Louis Grand Hotel. It's about 5 blocks from the start/finish, and it's close enough to anything else in downtown St Louis. And I got the room for $55/night! Even with taxes and fees, it's under $130 for two nights. I love me some Priceline!

Yes, the room is non-refundable, so I'm stuck with it no matter what happens. I guess that's the price you pay for being cheap. And yes, I'm cheap. Has anyone else used Priceline for a hotel room?
