I've been smiled at by an orca!!! Actually, we posed in front of the big glass wall at SeaWorld, and the trainer made a big sign with his hands as if telling the whale to open his mouth really big, which he did - a "smile"! We have a great picture of it, but it's not digital. Must scan that someday...

Sorry Opie, never tried it. Good luck. You should pass a lot of people in the last two miles.<br><br>
Usually my daily appetite reflects the amount of running I do. But yesterday I ran 4 miles and was ravenous all day. Today I ran 9 miles and haven't wanted to eat much.<br><br>
My question is: why?<br><br>
Am I just freakishly weird?<br><br>
If I am, will you all still be my friends?

That's <b>why</b> we like you, <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile"><br>
My appetite is also difficult to correlate to mileage.<br>

I always seem to overeat on rest days. That's one of the reason I don't like them. I think it's cuz I don't have to worry about how I'll feel for my run later (since I run later in the day), so the barriers are gone and it's open season on the snack bag!<br><br>
I do find that after a really long run (15+ miles), I'll be peckish the rest of the day/evening, but the next day I'm totally ravenous.

<div style="font-style:italic;">Has anyone ever run a 2-mi. time trial during a 5k? I'm thinking of doing this Saturday, doing the first 1.1 mi. at about 10k pace.</div>
</td>

No, but it's an interesting idea, and it will be fun to pass a lot of people.<br><br>
This week I'm going to experiment with doing a 3k (solo) time trial the weekend before a 5k race. The idea is to calibrate my 5k race pace, while running a distance short enough that it won't produce much lingering fatigue during race week.

on speed workout days i always crave a big fat greasy burger. burp. just had one for lunch. i used to blame the lactic acid, but i guess i need a new scape-goat. millbot?<br><br>
...and speaking about running and craving, now i'm wondering who's going to bring up the topic of running and sex? hmmm? millbot?

I don't see what that has to do with anything. Whether you are male or female, both sexes can run. and this coming from a male who runs in a skirt . . . <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/roll_eyes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="roll_eyes">

Yes, but can you run with your Coach..... purse....?

I'm sure Econo is just delighted with the direction(s) this thread has gone... <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/roll_eyes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="roll_eyes">

I don't own a purse.<br>
But I do have a coach.<br>

(oh wait, is that too political?)<br><br>
Running and sex?<br>
I agree with Tammy. Both sexes can run and run well. Some boys are faster than some girls and some girls are faster than some boys.<br><br>
I don't know why I run faster in my skirt but it might have something to do with the boys.

I run faster in my skirt too. I think it's because I want to pass the boys and imagine that they are mumbling "damn, I just got passed by a girl in a skirt!"<br><br>
I wonder if that's what girls were saying at the Ragnar relay when they got passed by McSolar "damn, I just got passed by a GUY wearing a skirt!"

I was fast once, and had sex a few times. Then I started lactating.
