Read an article on the Zoot running shoes...emphasized 1) biomechanics of running after the bike-which they said is different than running without the bike 2) water retention (or lack of...holes in the bottom) 3) quick entry 4) one more thing, I can't remember

Will you try them? I'm thinking of getting a pair when they are released (March)...then again, I'm always looking for a new pair of shoes...

I may give them a try. I would likely only use them for races and brick training. Currently I use Brooks T Racers and they're getting worn out.

I like the quick laces and the fact they are made so you dont need socks. Been thinking of trying the Newtons to help with the forefront strike. Wonder if they will now come out with the quick lace system and seamless insides for no socks?

My doc recommended the Newtons to help with foot strike problems. They are expensive around $180 I think.

They are very expensive. I looked at buying a pair once before until I seen the cost. I usually buy discontinued models so I don't pay but 50 - 60 for shoes. So we are looking a 3 pair for me.

I believe they last as well as regular shoes. My doc is hoping to sell them so I may be able to get a price break if she does. I guess if they will really help with injury problems they may be worth it. Just paying the copay for a zillion Doc visits probably adds up the same.

I see the Zoot shoes in my future. From what I have read they run about a 1/2 size smaller than most shoes. Can't hurt to try them out. If they dispose of the water weight, it would be well worth it for me. Nothing like getting 15 + miles into a run and feel like your running in a puddle of water.

One of the guys I train with is on his second pair. They seem comparable to other shoes in terms of how long they last.

As far as the price, that is my issue. I have three pairs of Brooks left that I bought half off, so I cant justify buying any Newtons till I wear those out!
