The Caramel Frappacino Light isn't bad. I looked in the big Starbucks book they have. Like 145 cals I think. And since it uses splenda, it's not as bad as it could be in sugar. Of course, when I add the whip cream on top, it's all negated.

you have to be careful with their caramel drinks (other than the frap's), though. the caramel syrup has butter in it. that can't be light.

And Mr. T, I sympathize! I used to eat the maple oat nut scone every day for breakfast.

I always get the sugar free caramel. I don't think it has any cals?

Muzicgrl, are you getting a sugar-free caramel macchiato with non-fat milk? If so, they're using sugar free vanilla syrup vs reg vanilla syrup, then pouring that highly fattening caramel sauce (that has butter in it) all over it. At least, that's how it was when I was a Starbucks fiend years ago. So while you miss a few calories w/ the sugar-free vanilla and there's no fat in the milk, the caramel is bad news.

You may want to ask them to show you the box they receive the caramel sauce in, and check out the ingredients. On the bright side, if it is still bad, you can always switch to sugar-free vanilla non-fat lattes. That will be an instant fat/calorie reduction! I lost a few pounds that way.

I know how it is normally made, but they now have suger free caramel at starbucks (I discovered it last spring) and it is listed on their website as having no cals. I am sure it is just a bunch of chemicals, but oh well.

Diablita: No its a caramel latte...not a machiatto.

They are probably using caramel flavored sugar free syrup, not real caramel. That's what we used at the coffee shop I worked for when someone wanted sugar free.

Once upon a time, I used to go to Starbucks and order a caramel macchiato, no foam, with extra caramel.

Sometimes I'd have the toffee bar, too.

Ah, the good ol' days.

Something low-cal and sweet (but artificial) that I like is the Tazo Awake (black) tea with sugar-free vanilla and hazlenut flavors added.
