From my home town. Fiercely independent, no longer just critically acclaimed. Bravo!

Arcade Fire put on an amazing performance as well.

They were great.

I watched the Grammy's last night on the dvr.

Lots of good Live Performances this year.

Bruno Mars was amazing.

Mumford and Sons followed by The Avett Brothers were probably the best acts I saw all night.

And of course, eminem was incredible. even if he didn't perform not afraid.

This just confirms my opinion that they're not that good.

Maybe their recordings are better, but I watched some youtube live stuff to find out what they were all about and was not impressed at all. To me the Grammy's and the AMA's just confirm the mediocrity of the artist.

Ditto to Coach's remark on Mumford.

I've tried hard to get Arcade Fire. The loopy bass work, OK. And there is an occasional nice little guitar riff (e.g., "Neighborhood #3 (Power Out))." But the recordings always sound muddy, turgid. Makes it hard to figure a lot of what Mr. Butler is singing (as in the current song getting the airplay,"We Used to Wait"). I don't want production to be sterile, but they've got to work on it.

Stevo! Mumford was awesome! been kicking it to them the past two days after that performance.

What did you think of The Avett Brothers? I thought they were equally as good.

I was actually kind of dissappointed when Bob Dylan came out.... I could have listened to some more Mumford/Avett Brothers easily.

Avetts were good - Mumford gets a lot more air time up here, though.

Given Zimmy's age, it would've been more appropriate if he sang "Knockin' On Heaven's Door."

I'd say they're more Black 47 or the Dropkick Murphys without the guitar-drive.

My snarky comment aside...Mumford and Sons are listenable. I certainly don't switch the station when they come on XM radio.

My issue is mainly with the whole notion of "Americana" music that the Grammys backs. It's mostly very safe bands. No edge at all...at least to my ears. Hence the Matchbox 20 quip.

When Arcade Fire's "Funeral" album came out (5 years ago?), I was a huge fan....not so much with "Neon Bible". I haven't looked at their latest album, but I'll probably give it a shot.

I like their second performance at the Grammy's far more than the first number....& although I wasn't a big fan of the first number, I really apreciated that they were far edgier than so many of the hip hop acts that have become the predictable oatmeal of pop music (very few exceptions).

Aside from that, Mumford & Avett was amazing!!

I was also quite impressed with Muse's performance....not a big fan of that particular tune, but they really kicked it live!

The biggest surprise to me was the Norah Jones/John Mayer/Keith Urban trio....great guitar playing....& I'm not a fan of either of them.
