he he he....
I find that I handle cooler temps off the bike better than when just starting out.
BUT, I also find that I handle cold temps better now, than when I first started.

My parents think I'm a freako!!
Dad once said, "I will not let you run." (it was rainy - drizzles with occasional heavier rain and mid to high 30's).
me: :S
"what? Ya gonna chase me down and stop me, dad?" lol

I'm a little jealous but I had an awesome run too this morning! I started as it was getting light out and there was such a pretty sunrise to greet me. The sky was clear and oh, yeah it was about 15*F. Perfect run on a nice sunny, cold morning! Got in about 5.5 miles. One of my better runs in recent weeks. Forty sounds heavenly though, too!

(Nice comeback to your Dad, Stitch!)

Thanks.....

lol

He just looked a little stunned......
"Fine. YOu're a big girl and can do stupid stuff if you want." Then, he walked into the other room.

Truly, though....he and mom are pretty cool. And, they only got really irked when I was out after dark this one time. That is mostly because the roads in their tiny town are frequented by semi-trucks, and they tend to be a bit speedy. They didn't know that I wasn't on the main streets, though.....
still.

It was a beautiful day. I stepped out at lunch time and was suddenly thinking about my bike and wishing I had it.

Umm... Can you send some of that warmth and sunshine down to Texas?? Today, I was at my masters class (indoors) at 11:45. It was 48 when I got there. It started pouring down rain in the middle. When I went outside, it had dropped to 38!! Burrr!! I hadn't changed out of my wet suit, and I had to stop for gas. It was 38, raining, and at least 20 mph wind! Burrrr!! No running or biking for me today! I got in a 2 mile swim, though! Whew!

2 hour bike ride ended at 35 deg wind chill. Front half of my feet were numb. Nose was dripping like hell. I couldn't feel the saddle anymore.

Note to self: Don't go on Saturday morning bike ride. It is supposed to be 35 degrees this Saturday! (I sure wish I had my trainer about now)

3chili, that front is coming thru Lake Charles right now. I run with my group on Sat mornings and they're saying it will be 37 degrees. BURRRRR!!!! At least it will be sunny and clear. We'll warm up fast after we get going.

I guess I'm a freako too.

33 degrees this morning, snow flurries (practically unheard of down here), wind,
a ride!!
Then, time on the trainer to round out the time....
and a small run to get that finished as well. The sun had fully come out by the time I started the run....

but it was still cold.
WAY too cold for CS!

I figure this makes up for bagging yesterday's run.

Actually, anyone who thinks sub 60 is cold is the real freako...that, or just a wimp. Now, the temp causing the asthma attack is one thing, but seriously, how in the heck can anyone's fingers go numb when the temp is between 50-60? That's some serious stretching of the truth.

Today, I ran 7km in the aftermath of the 20 inches of snow dumped on us since Friday. Very slippery, bad footing, mounds of snow everywhere. Very slow. Temperature? ... 16F, windchill factor of 0F. How's that for ya, Sheldon? I had to get to the pool somehow ... still haven't finished digging out the car.

That is so impressive - I can't believe some of the conditions people are able to run in; I'll run in the mid 20'sF if I have to, but I'll generally be crying about it. We're heading into the time of year perfect for running in the a.m. - anywhere from mid 40's to 60 in the morning...yeah baby!

It was 30 degrees here today for my run and it was really nice.

I visit Florida for a week each February and whenever I try to run down there I feel like I'm gonna die!! Maybe it's the sudden switch from cold to hot... but I hate running in the summer here too...
