I'm leaving work early to make Matt's birthday dinner: chicken sate (spicy peanut sauce) and rice. He's 40 today!! (yikes, that means I'm not far behind). Birthday cake will have to wait until the weekend (we're od'ing on chocolate chip cookies I made this weekend, anyway).<br><br>

Happy Birthday to Beth's DH!!!! I did my first Oly 3 days before my 40th....it was a great way to celebrate <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"><br><br>
Tonight: Pork chops with a pan-tomato sauce.

Vegetable Chilli for me tonight with mixed Rice and Pitta<br><br>
I have been trying to get the kids and DH off as much white rice - so I have been mixing in Brown rice and gradually increaseing the brown and lessening the white - they dont seem to notice <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"><br><br>

Mmmm...Brown rice tastes so much better than white, but yeah, it can take a little getting used to when you're not used to it.<br><br>

Leftover chicken curry and lentils from last night for me. Going to a Capitals game and my stomach can't handle anymore stadium food.<br><br>
There's a good business idea. Someone needs to come up with a healthy food outlet at stadiums. One would think a lot of people who attend sporting events are athletes themselves. I did see a chicken Ceasar salad at one vendor, but I'm guessing the chicken is fried and the dressing is loaded with fat and HFCS.<br><br>
How bad for me is a giant pretzel with mustard? :rolling eyes with shame:

I don't think I can go 100% brown when it comes to rice. I'm Asian after all. <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"> I do a 50/50 mix of brown & white jasmine. I make and freeze a big batch of brown and make the jasmine fresh so the house smells yummy. Nuke the brown before mixing it into the white.<br><br>
Chinese steamed tilapia with ginger & green onions, sauteed bok choy, and rice for dinner tonight.

I usually lightly steam it until just before crisp-tender, cut in half & saute with some garlic and oyster sauce.

Frozen Pizza! DH is out of town and we just got home from gymnastics. Kids need to be in bed in about 40 mins. Not our usual dinner, but the kids are excited! I have some other yummy stuff planned for later in the week when DH can cook! <img alt="wink.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/wink.gif">
